As a seasoned gamer with years of anticipation under my belt, I must confess that Hideo Kojima’s latest teaser for Death Stranding 2: On The Beach has left me both excited and slightly apprehensive. With a completion rate of only 30-40%, it seems we still have a long wait ahead, pushing the game potentially into 2025.
Hideo Kojima unveiled the upcoming game Death Stranding 2: At the Shore in a unique showcase during the Tokyo Game Show. We anticipated that the event would conclude with a disclosure of its release date, but unfortunately, due to some unexpected issues, this did not transpire.
Death Stranding 2 is “only about 30-40%” complete
At the unique showcase event for Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, Hideo Kojima stated that they’ve already decided on a potential launch date.
I haven’t said the release date today, but the release date has already been decided, and I’m currently working on it in preparation for that.
Later in the presentation, he was able to at least narrow it down to 2025:
Since we are talking about 2025, it will be released next year, so we will announce it at some point next year. But, due to some unforeseen circumstances, we cannot announce it today. ”
He couldn’t specify what these unforeseen circumstances actually were, but he told the audience that Death Stranding 2 is “only about 30-40%” complete.
Due to Kojima’s close relationship with Geoff Keighley, there’s a strong possibility that the game’s release date could be unveiled during The Game Awards 2024. However, it’s important to note that this is simply speculation at this point.
Given that the game is currently only about 30-40% completed, are you confident it’ll be wrapped up by 2025? Frankly, we harbor some concerns.
