Deadpool could be stepping back, to let others lead
Following the debut of “Deadpool and Wolverine” and growing interest in the mutant storyline within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Ryan Reynolds is already brainstorming ideas for the future. Instead of focusing on a conventional “Deadpool 4”, he’s said to be exploring a more unique concept. According to various sources, Reynolds is considering a project that might involve a group of three to four X-Men characters, with Deadpool having a less prominent role compared to his usual appearances.
A new mix of characters
Instead of another comprehensive reboot of the X-Men, as Michael Lesslie is already handling that, Reynolds’ idea seems to veer towards a more unconventional spin-off. This project appears to blend Deadpool with an assortment of mutants who aren’t typically associated, creating a chaotic yet humorous take on the X-Men universe. Essentially, it’s like a less serious and more character-centric approach to the X-Men storyline.
Still early, but the idea is there
At this point, nothing’s set in stone yet. Reynolds hasn’t formally proposed the idea to Marvel Studios, but he’s brainstorming various possibilities for the storyline. It seems he’s seriously considering it, and given his active role in every Deadpool project, it’s plausible that he wants to have a hand in shaping the future rather than leaving all decisions to Marvel.
