Dead Take from Surgent Studios has a release date and it’s in two weeks

For the past month, Game Director Abubakar Salim has been hinting at the upcoming venture from Surgent Studios. It appears to be quite different from Tales of Kenzera: ZAU as it delves into a psychological horror narrative that combines first-person exploration with film-based storytelling. On Wednesday, we learned Dead Take will launch officially on PC towards the end of this month. In an unexpected twist, they announced its release date ahead of schedule.

The freshly published trailer on Surgent Studios’ YouTube page unveils the game’s complete ensemble, with several actors featured in live-action scenes. Starring as the leads are Neil Newbon, known for Baldur’s Gate 3 and Final Fantasy 16, and Ben Starr. Alongside them will be Jane Perry, Matt Mercer, Laura Bailey, Sam Lake from Remedy Entertainment, Alanah Pearce, Travis Willingham, and Connor “CDawg” Colquhoun.

The narrative unfolds with an actor named Chase, portrayed by Newbon, delving into a perplexing deserted mansion. Gamers will engage in various riddles and hunt for hints about the whereabouts of his friend Vinny, played by Starr, who vanished soon after trying out for the same role as Chase. A substantial number of these clues will be uncovered through real-life video recordings that will help assemble the sequence of events leading up to Vinny’s disappearance.

The enigma surrounding Dead Take is about to be unraveled within a few brief weeks. You can expect its debut on PC as early as Thursday, July 31.
