As a seasoned gamer with hundreds of hours clocked into Dead by Daylight, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming 2v8 mode! The prospect of two killers and eight survivors adds a whole new layer of complexity to the game that I’ve been craving for a long time.
As a long-time fan of Dead by Daylight, I’m thrilled to share my excitement about the game’s upcoming developments. Later this month, we have a lot in store! The arrival of Lara Croft as a new survivor is an absolute game-changer for me. Her skills and abilities will surely add a fresh dynamic to the gameplay.
Back in May, Behaviour Interactive unveiled a new game mode for Dead by Daylight called 2v8. In this mode, there are two killers and eight survivors. Due to the larger number of players, there are now twice as many generators that need to be repaired for survival. Survivors must fix at least eight of these generators to successfully escape. Five of the original Dead by Daylight maps will support 2v8, each having been expanded to accommodate the additional generators and increased player count.
Developers announced that hooks and perks will no longer be used in 2v8 mode to maintain smooth gameplay. Instead, downed survivors are moved into cages. Previously known as perks, players now choose distinct roles through a casting system, enabling better team coordination before the game starts. Killers are equipped with team abilities to make life difficult for survivors.
As a gamer excited about Dead by Daylight’s new 2v8 mode: In the beginning, not all killers will be playable in this mode when it launches from July 25 to August 8. But don’t worry, Behaviour Interactive plans to add more killers eventually. However, keep in mind that these new killers are intended to work effectively in the standard game as well, so don’t expect any exclusive designs for 2v8 specifically.
