Dead by Daylight Mobile killed after months of silence from devs

As a dedicated gamer who’s spent countless hours navigating the foggy realms of Dead by Daylight Mobile, I can’t help but feel a pang of sadness as I read about its impending demise. The mobile version has been my go-to escape when I needed a quick fix of survival horror on the go, and the thought of saying goodbye to it is bittersweet.

NetEase Games has decided to discontinue Dead by Daylight Mobile, the mobile adaptation of Behavior’s popular asymmetric multiplayer game. Launched on Android and iOS in 2020, this mobile game will soon be closed down permanently, with all its cosmetic items being removed from the game for good.

Dead by Daylight Mobile shut down

It has been announced that, based on earlier whispers, the mobile version of Dead by Daylight will shut down on March 20th, 2025. However, this game may be taken off both the Google Play Store and iOS App Store as soon as January 16th, 2024.

On their game’s official site, Behavior Interactive shared that the team responsible for the mobile version of the game is extremely disappointed by its closure. This shutdown was attributed to changes in “development and operational plans” at NetEase; however, a low number of players might have contributed as well.

To the Community of The Fog, we regretfully bring you important information about the future of Dead by Daylight Mobile. Unfortunately, due to changes in NetEase Games’ development and business strategies, it’s been decided that we will cease operations for Dead by Daylight Mobile as of March 20th, 2025.

A Gift For All

To soften the blow as the mobile game nears its end, Behaviour Interactive is preparing a farewell gift for players transitioning from smartphones to PC or console gaming. This “Welcome Package” is open to all mobile gamers, regardless of whether they already play on other platforms. The aim is to make this change more appealing and to thank loyal fans with a special compensation.

For individuals considering a move, the Behaviour team has created a Newcomer Kit as a gesture of compensation for the funds invested and experience points accumulated in Dead by Daylight Mobile.

In conclusion, the entire Dead by Daylight Mobile team is deeply grateful to players worldwide for their support, contributions to our community, and for creating so many remarkable memories in the fog. Your commitment and enthusiasm truly mean the world to us.
