Dead By Daylight devs smack Rick Grimes with the ugly stick while other Walking Dead stars look great

The Playtest Build (PTB) of Dead by Daylight: The Walking Dead is now accessible for gameplay. Behaviour Interactive has disclosed the special abilities for both Rick and Michonne, however, it’s regrettable that Michonne is unavailable in the PTB due to technical issues. Although you can see her character model and utilize her perks, she cannot be played at this time. This setback for the PTB is overshadowed by a more troubling issue: the character models in Dead by Daylight. Despite the fact that Michonne and other Walking Dead celebrities look fantastic, it seems that the developers of Dead by Daylight have given Rick Grimes an unattractive appearance instead.

After the public test build (PTB) launch of Dead By Daylight: The Walking Dead, many Dead By Daylight (DBD) gamers have noted that Rick Grimes’ appearance appears less favorable compared to Michonne and the acclaimed Daryl skin.

On platform X, a user named howyoulikematt commented, “This appears to be a fake assassination, I’m truly sorry @AndrewLincoln, but you seem to resemble Nicolas Cage in a downloadable content pack.” The visuals employed are quite disturbing. The skin texture is excessively smooth and lacking in detail, while the hair seems to have been set at the lowest quality settings.

Rick’s peculiar look stands out even more when put beside Michonne and Daryl, as shown in the images shared by Dvveet. Michonne appears impeccable with a finely crafted face that closely resembles actress Dania Gurira, and her dreadlocks are impressive, ranking among the best hair styles seen in Dead By Daylight.

The Daryl Dixon’s iconic attire also suits him well, albeit not as meticulously crafted as Norman Reedus’ character in Kojima’s Death Stranding. However, it manages to capture the essence of the actor and his hair doesn’t look out of place at all.

Rick seems significantly improved in his hospital attire, making it challenging to understand why he appears poorly in other costumes. Fingers crossed that any behavioral issues causing this discrepancy will be addressed before the game’s full launch on July 29th, as players are currently finding him more akin to Nick than Rick in his current state.
