Five Nights at Freddy’s (FNAF) has consistently enjoyed immense popularity and now holds the title as Dead by Daylight’s largest expansion pack. Behaviour Interactive has hinted that more FNAF content is forthcoming, with a Halloween-themed Springtrap skin being one of them. Although new skins and cosmetics are exciting prospects, fans yearn for a second chapter akin to Resident Evil’s sequel. While no official announcement has been made, Behaviour Interactive has expressed interest in developing a second chapter and even teased the terrifying FNAF killer they’d “love” to introduce in Dead by Daylight’s foggy realm.
Dead By Daylight devs reveal FNAF killer they’d “love” for second chapter
After the introduction of the Five Nights At Freddy’s chapter in Dead By Daylight, developed by BeHaviour Interactive, they held a live question-and-answer session on the FNAF Discord. Unfortunately, this Q&A is no longer available, but the responses from BeHaviour have been shared across various social media platforms.
Earlier, it was disclosed that BeHaviour Interactive team members expressed openness to a sequel due to sufficient community interest and ample content from the license.
It’s also been revealed by JonnyBlox that Behaviour Interactive team members have expressed strong interest in including The Mimic as a potential killer, making it an ideal candidate for the next installment.

In the initial partnership between Dead By Daylight and Five Nights at Freddy’s, Springtrap was chosen to be the antagonist as William Afton is the main villain in the FNAF series. But for the newer games, Springtrap has been swapped with The Mimic instead.
The creature known as The Mimic is a chilling invention from the 1970s by Edwin Murray, distinctly different from any other entity. What sets it apart as truly terrifying isn’t its grotesque appearance – a skeletal frame with big yellow eyes and sharp teeth – but rather its talents encapsulated in its name. The Mimic possesses the power to imitate movements, actions, voices, and even personalities of others, deceiving the unlucky into a fatal trap. Moreover, it can transform itself to appear as other monstrous beings.
The Mimic is an ideal fit for Dead By Daylight due to its prominent position in the FNAF series and its ability to transform into various forms, providing numerous options for character skins like Jackie in Secret of the Mimic. Furthermore, its deceptive characteristics would lend themselves well to creating Killer perks that set traps for Survivors.
In simpler terms, while it’s not certain that another chapter of Five Nights at Freddy’s will be introduced in Dead by Daylight (DBD), it’s definitely a possibility. Historically, large franchises like Resident Evil have returned, with the latter serving as a prime example. As long as an agreement can be made with Steel Wool, Behaviour Interactive has already paved the way by hinting at The Mimic character. This addition could significantly enhance the 2v8 mode, making a collaboration between The Mimic and Springtrap potentially more chilling than Nemesis and Wesker.
