Dead By Daylight dev confirms incoming FNAF goodies while also teasing fan-favorite character

The popular game Dead by Daylight has seen its largest simultaneous player count surpassed by the release of the Five Nights at Freddy’s expansion, eclipsing the previous record set with Resident Evil collaboration. Dead By Daylight dev teases more Five Nights At Freddy’s

Recently, the creators of Dead By Daylight engaged in a question-and-answer session on the FNAF Discord about the Five Nights At Freddy’s expansion. Some responses from this interaction were shared by both FNAF4DBD and Dveet.

Among the topics discussed, one point centered around character skins. Developers have hinted at introducing a Springtrap skin in October and a new Blighted one too. The confirmation of a fresh Springtrap costume excites fans, but it’s unclear whether this also includes an FNAF Blighted cosmetic or if they are two distinct items.

Eric Pope, the community manager, mentioned that his preferred Springtrap appearance is one that hasn’t been revealed to us as of now. Given the context, this might refer to the upcoming October cosmetic, and although no hints have been given, it could potentially be Burntrap from Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach.

The FNaF Discord community is organizing a Q&A session with the BHVR team, and during this event, Eric Pope hinted that his preferred Springtrap costume remains unrevealed.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but get excited when the developer hints at potential new additions to Dead By Daylight. And though they didn’t specifically mention it, their recent tease about Foxy left me hopeful that we might one day see him in the game. If he does make an appearance, I’m guessing it would be a truly epic Legendary skin for Springtrap, given his iconic status within the Five Nights at Freddy’s universe.

Furthermore, it’s worth noting that BeHaviour Interactive hinted at the prospect of a sequel, which seems highly likely given the enormous fanbase for Five Nights At Freddy’s and the tremendous success of their collaboration. The potential for various murderers is immense due to the numerous iconic animatronics, with characters like Jackie in Secret of the Mimic still being introduced in new games.

When asked about the possibility of a second FNAF chapter, developers confirmed that it’s a possibility due to the strong community interest and abundance of material available for creation.

Regarding skins, they hinted at additional ones being in development, with one being Blighted. However, a fan-favorite skin hasn’t been revealed just yet.

Lastly, developers assured fans that Foxy hasn’t been forgotten and will continue to be a part of the game.

Unfortunately, it seems there are no current plans for Charms to be introduced, as confirmed by BeHaviour. Additionally, the developers have expressed doubts about Springtrap being included in the 2v4 mode due to gameplay complications. There might also be licensing concerns regarding 2v4, a point previously discussed by DBD director Mathieu Cote.
