Dead By Daylight dev announces surprise change for beloved mode

As a seasoned Dead By Daylight enthusiast with countless hours under my belt and a passion for all things horror gaming, I must say that this latest announcement from Behaviour Interactive has sent shivers of excitement down my spine! The unexpected extension of the beloved 2v8 mode until November 28th is like finding a hidden key in the foggy Haddonfield streets – pure joy!

Dead by Daylight is hastening to conclude November with anticipation for a thrilling and busy end of 2024. However, deviating slightly from their planned roadmap, the developer has recently revealed an unexpected expansion for the beloved 2v8 mode in DBD. Additionally, they have disclosed another adjustment regarding a forthcoming livestream event.

2021 has been a fantastic year for Dead By Daylight, and it looks like 2025 could be even better! The last licensed killer from Year 9 is scheduled to debut in March, and rumors hint that this character might be of Japanese origin but not related to “The Grudge.” Furthermore, cryptic hints indicate more Resident Evil content is on the horizon. In addition, we now have confirmation about the long-anticipated chapter featuring Five Nights At Freddy’s!

We’re incredibly excited about what Dead By Daylight (DBD) has in store for us next year, but for now, we’ve got an exciting finish to November to savor. The exciting 2v8 mode has been extended, and in the meantime, Behaviour’s upcoming livestream will kick off a bit earlier than initially scheduled.

In Dead By Daylight, Behaviour Interactive has made an adjustment to the 2v8 mode’s ending date. Instead of wrapping up on November 26th as previously scheduled according to this month’s roadmap, the new schedule now extends it to November 28th, with the mode concluding at 7AM Pacific Time/10AM Eastern Time/3PM Greenwich Mean Time.

This is terrific news! The arrival of 2v8 has been one of the standout events for DBD this year, and extending our time with it by a few days is an added bonus. We can look forward to its return in future with a third edition, and rumors suggest that new killers and maps are on the horizon.

As a die-hard fan, I’ve been hoping that the exciting game mode wouldn’t disappear anytime soon. However, BeHaviour has clarified that they’ve never officially confirmed its permanence. On top of that, the developer has acknowledged the suggestion of transitioning the mode from 2v8 to a more balanced 3v5 setup.

As long as the 2v8 game mode is active, players can earn triple the usual Bloodpoints in every match until 8AM Pacific Time, 11AM Eastern Time, or 4PM Greenwich Mean Time on November 28th.

In addition to the expansion of 2v8 mode, BeHaviour has also revealed a minor adjustment for their upcoming broadcast. The developer’s live stream on November 28th will now kick off an hour earlier at 7AM Pacific Time/10AM Eastern Time/3PM Greenwich Mean Time. You can catch it live on either YouTube or Twitch.

As soon as the livestream ends, players will gain access to the release of Chapter 34, which was initially scheduled for December. In this chapter, BeHaviour introduces The Houndmaster as a new original killer, while Taurie Cain is introduced as a new original survivor.
