DCU’s Lois Lane Shown in New Superman Video

As a lifelong fan of superheroes, particularly the Man of Steel, I can hardly contain my excitement for James Gunn’s upcoming reimagining of Superman! Growing up with Christopher Reeve’s portrayal and later witnessing Brandon Routh and Henry Cavill don the cape, I’ve seen my fair share of Kryptonians on screen. But from what I’ve heard about Gunn’s unique blend of action, humor, and heart, this new Superman promises to be a fresh take that resonates deeply with me.

New footage from Superman has been released.

On December 18, 2024, we can expect the first trailer for James Gunn’s Superman film to debut. Prior to this, Gunn has given us a sneak peek at some fresh footage of the upcoming DC Universe movie, which is set to premiere in 2025.

What happens in the new Superman video?

The video posted on X by Gunn gives viewers a peek at the exterior of Daily Planet’s building, followed by a short scene starring Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. In this scene, she seems to be looking at something while standing next to Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen. Additionally, Beck Bennett appears as Steve Lombard in the same shot.

Next, the video displays various residents of Metropolis gazing skyward, concluding with a brief scene of David Corenswet’s Steel Man soaring aloft.

Superman, the initial feature film from DC Studios, is ready to fly into cinemas globally this summer, courtesy of Warner Bros. Pictures. The official summary indicates that director James Gunn has reimagined the classic superhero within a new DC Universe, combining spectacular action, humor, and emotion in a unique way. This Superman is motivated by compassion and an unwavering faith in humanity’s goodness.

In addition to the previously mentioned cast members, Superman is joined by Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Terence Rosemore as Otis, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Pruitt Taylor Vince as Jonathan Kent, Neva Howell as Martha Kent, Mikaela Hoover as Cat Grant, Christopher McDonald as Ron Troupe, and Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr. in this production.

On July 11, 2025, Superman is set to hit the big screens across U.S. theaters, marking the beginning of the DC Universe’s first installment, entitled “Gods and Monsters.
