Mister Miracle is getting his own adult animated series from DC Studios and Warner Bros. Animation.
Today at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival and Market, Warner Bros. revealed a new, unconfirmed series set in the DC Universe, titled “Mister Miracle.” This upcoming series is inspired by the critically-acclaimed 12-issue comic book series of the same name written by Tom King and illustrated by Mitch Gerads. Notably, King himself will serve as the showrunner and executive producer for this project.
A network connection hasn’t been established as of now. Previously, DC’s mature animated series such as Harley Quinn and Creature Commandos were available on Max (soon to be rebranded as HBO Max). Currently, Mister Miracle is being produced concurrently with the second season of Creature Commandos.
A first look at Mister Miracle was also shared and can be viewed below:
What do we know about Mister Miracle?
According to the official series summary, “Scott Free, globally renowned as Mister Miracle – the most accomplished escape artist in existence – cannot be confined by prisons or trapped by devices. However, can he manage the greatest feat yet – escaping from death itself?
A terrible turn of events has disrupted the idyllic life that Scott and his valiant spouse Big Barda had created on Earth. The ongoing conflict between their home planets, Apocalypse and New Genesis, appears to have culminated in Darkseid, Scott’s malevolent adoptive father, seizing control of the Anti-Life Equation – a powerful artifact that could grant Darkseid absolute rule over the entire cosmos.
With towering piles of casualties on each side, it’s only Mister Miracle who might halt this carnage and bring tranquility. However, the immense power of the Anti-Life Equation could have seeped into his consciousness, twisting his perception, resurfacing old wounds, and potentially shattering the bliss he shares with the woman he cherishes.
Thus commences the adventure of Scott Free, Mister Miracle: an intense, amusing, emotional rollercoaster ride through the obstacles of both the mundane and the extraordinary. The son of a deity nurtured by the devil embarks on a mission to rescue his loved ones, his realm, and perhaps even himself.
It’s probable that we’ll hear about when Mister Miracle’s release is scheduled once a network decides to air its adult-oriented animated show.
