DBD Garden of Joy map continues to cause misery because of a frustrating spawn bug

As a devoted Dead by Daylight (DBD) player who has traversed through countless maps since its debut back in 2016, I must say that the Garden of Joy has proven to be an unforgettable addition… or rather, for all the wrong reasons! This sprawling map, introduced with patch 6.0.0 in 2022, is a playground for survivors and killers alike – until you stumble upon the dreaded spawn bug that is.

Ever since Behavior Interactive introduced Dead by Daylight in 2016, the map selection has expanded significantly, featuring both original designs and well-known locations from various horror film series. However, not every map manages to win over the game’s player community. Among those that have been added to the DBD rotation, one stands out as particularly notorious among killer main players: the Garden of Joy.

Introduced with update 6.0.0 in 2022, the expansive Garden of Joy map includes a massive mansion as its central structure, a persistent shack for the killer, and numerous pallets and windows clustered together to allow survivors to loop the killer efficiently. However, unlike before, it’s not the countless ‘god’ pallets that are causing recent player frustration. Instead, it’s due to an irritating spawn bug that leaves you stationary throughout the entire game.

In this game, regardless of whether you’re a survivor or a killer, the glitch in the Garden of Joy has no preference over who it affects. Unfortunately, if you’re playing as the killer, it’s particularly troublesome because they can’t be downed. This means either quitting the game or enduring until all survivors leave is your only option.

As a fellow enthusiast, if you haven’t encountered the issue on X (previously known as Twitter), consider yourself fortunate. Unfortunately, my luck ran out when I posted a clip showcasing me stepping into a match as Oni, but the bug had other ideas and left me stationary. Similarly, user jillxlara experienced the same predicament while playing as a survivor instead of the monster.
