Based on information posted on the LeaksDBD subreddit by a trusted source known as Ruthless, hints have been dropped about the main character for the March 2025 chapter of Dead By Daylight. This upcoming killer is said to be from a film that was released after the year 2000 and has greater popularity in an eastern nation.

Although the hints are quite ambiguous, they’ve got Dead by Daylight enthusiasts speculating. Despite their ambiguity, many believe that the upcoming licensed killer character might be Kayako from Ju-On/The Grudge.

According to Reddit user HenryTheGoat173, “the chapter is due out in March 2025, and the first Ju-On movie (Ju-On: The Curse) was premiered between February and March of the year 2000. This means that in 2025, it will be celebrating its 25th anniversary.”

Furthermore, hinting at Ju-On, the statement “It’s more commonly known in an eastern nation” might serve as a clue since it is hugely famous in Japan, while the Western version, The Grudge, premiered in 2004.

Based on the hints given, Kayako appears to be the strongest candidate for further development, much like how Sadako/Samara were in Ringu. Although they share a resemblance, they are distinct entities, and there’s immense potential for BeHaviour to introduce novel aspects with Kayako due to her unique abilities.

Beyond just confirming that Ruthless isn’t the character, members of the LeaksDBD Discord have also explicitly stated that neither Jason from Friday the 13th nor the Predator are involved.
