Dead by Daylight 2v8 mode release date

I’m thrilled to share that I’ve learned the 2v8 mode in Dead By Daylight is scheduled for release on July 25th! This information was officially announced by Behaviour Interactive as part of their July 2024 development roadmap.

Unfortunately, this feature won’t be a permanent addition to DBD before August 8th. But don’t worry, there are plans for it to come back with updates and enhancements at some point in the future, as BeHaviour mentioned during their livestream that they consider this event as the “initial version”.

At the 2v8 livestream on July 22nd, BeHaviour announced that cross-progression will be available starting from this date. Moreover, they officially revealed that The Casting of Frank Stone is scheduled for release on September 3rd, as previously speculated.

DBD 2v8 mode killers list and skills

In today’s live broadcast, BeHaviour Interactive shared numerous intriguing insights regarding the functionality of 2v8 mode in Dead By Daylight, going beyond the simple concept of two killers versus eight survivors.

To begin with, not every killer from the list will be eligible for the method. We’re dealing with just five unique killers here, and this is the roster:

    • Bigger chain blink window
    • Reduced fatigue

Dead by Daylight 2v8 mode survivor classes

Survivors possess specific class traits, a feature distinct to them compared to killers. Here are the descriptions for these survivor classes:

  • Guide:
    • Reveal your aura and the generator’s aura to your team when repairing
    • See Generator auras
    • Great skill check progression boost
  • Medic:
    • Grant nearby survivors a heal boost
    • See auras of injured survivors
    • Faster healing speed
  • Scout:
    • Reveal killer aura when they break a pallet wall or damage a generator
    • Reveal killer’s aura to team when killer is in your line of sight
    • Make no sound when injured
  • Escapist:
    • Shared sprint burst
    • Reveal the auras of windows, breakables and pallets
    • Run faster while injured

Survivors can have any class so they are not restricted and confined.

Maps and details

For the first iteration of 2v8 mode, there will only be the following five maps to play on:

  • Autohaven wreckers
  • Red Forest
  • Macmillan Estate
  • Crotus Penn Asylum
  • Coldwind farm

The maps will be expanded in size, and each map you choose to play on will include a total of thirteen generators. Survivors’ objective will be to repair a required eight of these generators.

In contrast to the conventional Dead by Daylight experience, there won’t be any hooks present. Survivors, instead, will be confined in cages. Notably, they will have the ability to self-heal following two cage stages. Additionally, there will be a total of 20 chests included.
