David Harbour Teases Stranger Things’ Final Episode: ‘Never Seen So Much Heavy, Heavy Weeping’

As a gamer who has grown up with Stranger Things, the anticipation for the final season is palpable. The series has been a constant companion throughout my teenage years, and I can vividly recall staying up late to binge-watch each new episode. The news that the cast recently read through the script for the final episode of Stranger Things Season 5 filled me with a mix of emotions – excitement, nostalgia, and a tinge of sadness.

The last episode of Stranger Things will be an emotional one.

The last season of the widely-acclaimed Netflix show “Stranger Things”, titled as Season 5, is being made right now. A specific launch date hasn’t been announced yet, but it’s anticipated to hit our screens in the year 2025.

David Harbour, the actor portraying Jim Hopper in the show, disclosed to ComicBook that the cast has just gone over the script for the last episode in Stranger Things Season 5.

What did David Harbour say about the final Stranger Things episode?

Reflecting on the return to our original Stranger Things cast for this final season is quite extraordinary, as we’ve journeyed so far since Season 1, and it’s not just any show anymore. It’s a wild ride for us all. You see, those young actors were mere children when we began; they’re adults now, shaving, no longer kids. Finn Wolfhard has even directed a movie! To witness everything come full circle…We recently had a table read for the last episode and let me tell you, there was an overwhelming amount of tears. The episode is moving, but it’s also deeply emotional because this wasn’t just a show; it was their childhood. They were 11 years old then, grew up, and battled the monster together. I’ve never seen so many adults cry as much as these young talents did during our reading.

He added, “There were cameras present, yet it wasn’t for the benefit of publicists or Instagram influencers. The setup had an intimate feel, which I hope isn’t too common because there was a sense of profoundness – we are more than just colleagues, we are a family. There’s a deeper layer to this, it’s about the bonds we’ve forged over nine years since they were children, and that emotional connection was palpable throughout. It had a raw, honest, and bittersweet feel.

In addition to Harbour, the cast of Stranger Things includes Winona Ryder portraying Joyce Byers, Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven, Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler, Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin Henderson, Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair, Sadie Sink as Max Mayfield, Natalia Dyer as Nancy Wheeler, Joe Keery as Steve Harrington, Maya Hawke as Robin Buckley, Jamie Campbell Bower as Vecna, and a host of others.
