As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for horror films, I must say that the upcoming movie “The Cure” has piqued my interest significantly. The casting alone is enough to excite any fan of suspenseful thrillers and chilling horror stories. With David Dastmalchian, known for his stellar performances in the horror genre, teaming up with Ashley Greene from “The Twilight Saga”, it’s a match made in cinematic heaven.
In a new twist, actor David Dastmalchian, known for his work on Late Night with the Devil, and Ashley Greene of The Twilight Saga fame will take the lead in the horror-thriller titled The Cure. This chilling film is under the direction of Nancy Leopardi, who has previously worked on Maggie Moore(s) and The Donor Party.
The screenplay for “The Cure” was penned by writers Jonathan Bernstein and James Greer, from the band Unsane. Dastmalchian and Greene are slated to portray affluent parents who use their daughter’s blood for unsavory purposes in this horror-thriller. Filming has already been completed in Los Angeles.
Who else is in The Cure cast?
As reported by Deadline, Samantha Cochran is set to join Brian Dastmalchian and Timothy Olyphant in the cast. She will play the role of a 16-year-old girl who has been adopted by Dastmalchian and Olyphant’s characters. Soon, she discovers that her affluent bio-tech billionaire adoptive parents have sinister intentions for her blood.
Besides them, you’ll find Sydney Taylor (from American Born Chinese), Tyler Lawrence Gray (the one from The Girl in the Pool), and Dylan Flashner (who plays Code Name Banshee) as part of the main cast.
In a statement released through Deadline, the director expressed that “The Cure” follows in the footsteps of timeless horror and sci-fi films, which draw inspiration from chilling socio-political issues and cutting-edge bio-technology. Comparing it to movies like Ex-Machina, A.I., and Videodrome, he suggests we’re on the verge of a scientific revolution, and the crucial question that arises is: Who will reap the benefits?
The creation of The Cure is a collaborative effort between John Ierardi and Bo Youngblood from Showdown Productions, as well as Natalie Marciano and Rock Jacobs from Indy Entertainment and Rebel Entertainment respectively.
Known for his work in the horror genre, Dastmalchian has recently appeared in the successful film Late Night with the Devil. He is also recognized for his performances in The Dark Knight, Prisoners, Ant-Man, The Belko Experiment, The Suicide Squad, Dune, Boston Strangler, The Boogeyman, and Oppenheimer. In an upcoming project, he will share the screen with Kate Siegel in the upcoming zombie movie Epilogue.
Speaking as a devoted fan here, I must say it’s truly exciting to see Ashley Greene, famously known for her role as Alice Cullen in The Twilight Saga, expanding her acting horizons recently. She’s been featured in Some Other Woman and The Retirement Plan. Moreover, her versatile talent has been showcased in films like The Immaculate Room, Aftermath, Bombshell, Antiquities, Kristy, LOL, and many others. I can hardly wait to see what she takes on next!
