Phoenix Labs has declared that the action RPG, Dauntless, their free-to-play monster-hunting game launched in 2019, will cease operation on May 29. After this date, the game will no longer be accessible for play.
Phoenix Labs posted a brief statement on X to announce the shutdown of Dauntless.
In 2023, it’s said that daring game studio Phoenix Labs was taken over by Forte, a business focused on blockchain and cryptocurrency technology. According to a report from Game Developer in 2024, employees at Phoenix Labs were asked to maintain secrecy about the acquisition.
