As a die-hard fan of The Walking Dead universe, I can hardly contain my excitement for the highly anticipated second season of Daryl Dixon: The Book of Carol! After 12 long years of following the main series, it’s a treat to see Melissa McBride return as Carol Peletier. The teaser’s promise that she’s come “a very long way” has me on the edge of my seat, eagerly waiting for their much-anticipated reunion between Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol.
On September 29th, the second season of “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon,” titled “The Book of Carol,” will premiere on AMC and AMC+. This season primarily delves into two narratives: Carol’s pursuit for Daryl, and Daryl’s battle against the Union of Hope in France while grappling with his desire to return home.
This season marks the debut of a title change for a show within the Walking Dead universe for the first time. The incorporation of “The Book of Carol” into the title indicates Melissa McBride’s return as character Carol Peletier, who had a brief break following the demanding filming schedule of the main series over 12 years. Now, Carol is back, and as the teaser suggests, “I came here to find Daryl. I traveled a great distance.
Fans are eagerly waiting for the long-awaited reunion between characters Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol, who went their separate ways towards the end of the primary series during its eleventh and final season. Since then, Daryl has been on a quest to explore the unknown and gather information about Michonne (Danai Gurira) and Rick (Andrew Lincoln), while Carol remained behind to help manage affairs at the newly structured Commonwealth. At the conclusion of Daryl’s first solo season, a hint was dropped suggesting that Carol had begun searching for Daryl in Maine, his last known location, as he failed to show up at the Commonwealth within a week, as previously agreed.
Two fresh pictures (presented below) display harmonious images, one centered around Daryl and the other around Carol, accompanied by the caption: “An unbreakable bond connects them.” This sentiment resonates, as this pair, in spite of their contrasts, have consistently maintained a deep friendship.
Their bond can’t be broken. #TWDCaryl premieres September 29th on AMC and AMC+.

In the newest sneak peek released by AMC, we see a collection of scenes distinct from earlier promotional materials. Daryl is depicted in France this time, engaged in combat alongside the Union of Hope, and frantically searching for Carol’s missing friend with an urgent sense of desperation.
The teaser features some key quotes:
- Isabelle to Daryl: “You think it’s over? Bet on hope.”
- Daryl: “Let go of the things that scare you. Be willing to throw the first punch.”
- “Bon courage, monsieur Dixon.” – translation: Good luck, Mr. Dixon.
In the opening scene of the latest teaser, there’s a moment that reminded me of a scene from the original show. In this new Daryl Dixon spin-off, it appears Carol is the one trapped in a car overrun by zombies, much like when Rick Grimes was enclosed inside a tank in Atlanta during the first season of the main series.
Reminiscent of a particular moment from The Walking Dead’s Season 1, I recently came across a fresh clip featuring everyone’s favorite crossbow-wielding survivor, Daryl Dixon, from Season 2.
