As a seasoned gamer and avid fan of The Walking Dead Universe (TWDU), I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming seasons! The recent announcements about the continuation of “The Walking Dead: Dead City” have sent shivers down my spine, much like the undead creatures that roam this post-apocalyptic world.
AMC Networks has been dedicated to delivering additional content for fans of “The Walking Dead.” Prior to its conclusion, three offshoots were unveiled: “Fear the Walking Dead,” “The Walking Dead: World Beyond,” and “Tales of the Walking Dead.” Each series added depth to the universe, and the introduction of these direct spinoffs has reinvigorated The Walking Dead Universe. Which series will be released next and when?
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon’s Journey is a spinoff series that follows the adventures of Daryl Dixon, portrayed by Norman Reedus, as it delves deeper into his storyline and expands the world of The Walking Dead Universe to France. The second season of this show has recently wrapped up, with Carol Peletier (played by Melissa McBride) rejoining the narrative. The third season is set to debut in 2025.
Titled “The Walking Dead: Those Who Survive,” this spin-off series centers around the reunification of characters Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira). This limited series, comprised of a single season, marks their reunion.
Titled “The Walking Dead: Dead City,” this new show is the first direct spinoff, set in a post-apocalyptic New York City. Starring Maggie, played by Lauren Cohan, and Negan, portrayed by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, it’s the next series coming to AMC after its release.
The Walking Dead: Dead City – season 2
In Spring 2025, both AMC and AMC are slated to debut the second season of “Dead City”. This development is thrilling since the first season left several tales untold. The upcoming season will continue the narrative six months post the ending of season 1.
Among the returning actors for this upcoming season are Cohan, Morgan, Gaius Charles, Logan Kim, Ċ½eljko Ivanek, Lisa Emery, and others. Joining them in the new cast are Kim Coates, Dascha Polanco, Jake Weary, Keir Gilchrist, and Pooya Mohseni.

This season will become more intense as Emery’s Dama plans to enlist Negan’s help in controlling the criminal elements of the island. In addition, Coates takes on the role of Bruegel, the chief of Manhattan’s most formidable gang.
