Daredevil Fans Think Born Again Finale Will Set Up Major Character’s Return

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but feel a glimmer of hope that Elden Henson’s character, Foggy Nelson, might reappear in the final episode of Daredevil: Born Again. Even though the Disney+ series resumed from where the Netflix show left off with Matt Murdock sharing victories with Foggy and Karen Page, it’s tragic that Foggy was taken by Bullseye at the start of the first episode. Since then, his absence has been noticeable in the events unfolding in Born Again. Yet, the anticipation among fans remains unyielding, as many speculate that Foggy might miraculously resurface in Episode 9, making a dramatic comeback!

Why fans think Daredevil: Born Again’s finale will set up Foggy’s return

Although Marvel Studios hasn’t given a definitive answer about Foggy’s status, fans are strongly speculating that he is still alive and set to appear in the final episode of Daredevil: Born Again. This belief stems largely from the fact that Brad Winderbaum, a Marvel executive, has announced that Elden Henson will return to his role in Season 2.

Furthermore, the way Foggy’s character ends in the show shares several resemblances with a 2006 Daredevil comic called “The Secret Life of Foggy Nelson.” In this story, Foggy appears to perish in a similar manner, but later survives and gets enlisted into the FBI’s witness protection program. In March 2025, Marvel posted a series of images on Instagram, showing scenes from the series that mirrored their comic book counterparts. One of these pictures highlights the similarities between Foggy’s death, as depicted in Daredevil issue #82.

In the comments below the post, fans expressed their theories about Foggy’s possible resurrection in Daredevil: Born Again finale. One user hinted at the comic storyline where Foggy lived by saying, “It’s intriguing that they referenced the comic where Foggy survived.” Another fan believed that Foggy could return to life based on the comic series, stating, “They explicitly mentioning the comic story where Foggy faked his death suggests he might be alive.” A third supporter shared their thoughts on why Foggy’s comeback seems likely by writing, “Using a panel showing Foggy being stabbed when, a few issues later, it’s revealed he was in witness protection the whole time is definitely an intentional move.

Although Marvel adopts a unique approach when transforming comics for screenplay, the likenesses and Elden Henson’s anticipated return in Season 2 have led many to believe Foggy is still alive. However, until an official announcement is made, fans will need to wait for the Daredevil: Born Again finale on Tuesday, April 15, to confirm their suspicions.
