As a devoted fan, I’m just as thrilled as you are about Charlie Cox’s character in “Daredevil: Born Again” eagerly anticipating Krysten Ritter’s long-awaited return as Jessica Jones in Season 2 of her series. Much like the audience, I can’t wait to see how this upcoming season addresses a question that has been lingering in my mind regarding the dynamic between Daredevil and Jessica Jones in their professional partnership.
In May 2025, it was confirmed during Disney’s presentation in New York City that Jessica Jones, played by Krysten Ritter, would be back. This upcoming season, titled “Born Again,” will be the first time Ritter and her co-star from Marvel projects, Mike Colter (Jessica Jones and Luke Cage), have collaborated since their joint appearance in the 2017 miniseries The Defenders. In this crossover, they teamed up with other major characters from Daredevil, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage to battle against The Hand.
What did Charlie Cox say about Jessica Jones’ MCU return?
During a recent chat on Deadline’s Crew Call podcast, I, Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), pondered over a question that many fans have wondered about the upcoming reunion of Jessica Jones and Daredevil in Born Again Season 2: “When did my character, Jessica Jones, learn that I wasn’t actually dead? At the end of Defenders, it seemed as though everyone believed I was gone for good.
Although photos from the set have hinted at the reunion of the two characters in Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Born Again Season 2, precise details about Jessica Jones’ role in the storyline are still shrouded in mystery. However, during a recent conversation on Crew Call, Cox gave a hint about what viewers can anticipate when these beloved characters appear together on screen again.
The actor observed that they both hold each other in high regard, but have their differences. She perceives him as overly serious and somewhat like a choirboy, while he sees her as brash and treating too many serious matters with levity. To him, she’s more an anti-hero than a hero.
