Luke Cage fans call for Mike Colter’s return after Daredevil: Born Again trailer

The unveiling of the Daredevil: Born Again trailer, which hints at Luke Cage through an Easter egg, has sparked renewed excitement among fans about the character. In one scene, a Times Square billboard for Harlem’s Paradise, a key location from the Luke Cage series, is shown during Wilson Fisk’s New Year’s Eve speech. This nod towards Harlem’s Paradise has caused a flurry of discussions about the possibility of Luke Cage reappearing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Social media users have shown great excitement following the Harlem’s Paradise mention. One fan posted on X (previously Twitter), “Wow, Luke Cage referenced his return home! AHHHHHHH,” attracting a large amount of interest and thousands of views.

A different user announced excitedly, “Luke Cage is mentioned in the Born Again trailer!! Here are some pictures from it.

It was emphasized that the reference mattered significantly. The Twitter account of the Phase Hero podcast’s official administrator stated, “A Times Square billboard in the Daredevil trailer hints at Harlem’s Paradise, which is a vital location from the Luke Cage series.

Harlem’s Paradise, a significant nightclub in the storyline of Luke Cage, served as a stronghold for the Stokes crime family initially, but later transformed into Luke Cage’s operational base following Mariah Dillard’s demise. The billboard’s emergence subtly references this character and links the Defenders universe, comprising Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage, to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Although Daredevil (Charlie Cox) and Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio) have become part of the MCU, the fate of Luke Cage is yet undecided.

At present, there’s no official word from Marvel about Mike Colter coming back as Cage. Nevertheless, Colter himself has shown enthusiasm towards resuming his role. As of now, there are no confirmed plans regarding the return of Cage that have been made public.

Enthusiasts continue to anticipate news, as Daredevil: Born Again is set to debut on Disney+ on March 4, 2025. This series could potentially shed light on the direction for these characters going forward.
