As a seasoned gamer with decades worth of experience under my belt, I must say that the ongoing feud between DanTDM and KSI over Lunchly has been nothing short of entertaining. While I may not always agree with every move either party makes, I can’t help but appreciate their ability to generate buzz and keep the gaming community talking.
Following a short spell of quietness, DanTDM has weighed in on his ongoing disagreement with KSI regarding Lunchly. Previously, the well-known YouTuber sparked debate by criticizing the moral standards of KSI, Logan Paul, and MrBeast’s freshly launched brand. KSI promptly responded by releasing a video addressing the criticism. Now, DanTDM has voiced his opinions on KSI’s response to the Lunchly controversy. Here are the details.
DanTDM finally responds to KSI after Lunchly controversy
As a passionate admirer, I’m thrilled to share that DanTDM graced the Shut Up I’m Talking podcast. In a nuanced manner, he subtly touched upon the viral spat with KSI. He admitted that his tweet served as a catalyst for an influencer to introspect deeply about their behavior.
TommyInnit also brought up JackSepticEye’s criticism of Logan Paul’s Japan incident from 2017, which stirred up quite a bit of controversy. Dan commented, “Regarding the Lunchly situation, there might be a comparable issue at play here. I thought to myself, ‘This is getting out of hand.’ You can test boundaries, but if you push things too far, Logan should understand that he’ll end up crossing the line.
DanTDM made clear that his lack of comment on the matter was deliberate. He chose to steer clear of the ongoing commotion, recognizing KSI’s affinity for the back-and-forth nature of such disputes as a boxer. For Dan, it was more enjoyable not to participate in the drama, instead finding amusement in merely observing its progression.
The controversy started when DanTDM, in a critical tweet, voiced his disapproval towards Lunchly. He was frustrated with influencers exploiting their platforms to peddle goods to young followers. In essence, he stated that this is just a means to make money without considering the well-being of their audience. He went on to say, “This is pushing merchandise for the sake of generating income, plain and simple. How does this help their fans? They’re selling junk to kids who are easily swayed by those peddling it. Try harder.” The tweet soon gained widespread attention.
To counter DanTDM’s criticism, KSI produced a 20-minute video. In this video, KSI argued that Dan wasn’t receiving genuine backlash for his comments but was generally disliked, along with Logan Paul and MrBeast. Later, in an episode of the Impaulsive podcast, KSI confessed that he had kept the drama going as a promotional tactic to boost views for his new single, “Thick of It,” and the Lunchly brand.
