What happens in the 40 Acres trailer?
The video presents Deadwyler as a veteran soldier safeguarding her family and property in a post-apocalyptic era, ravaged by famine. Her role will entail confronting a band of ruthless cannibals seeking to seize her farm. The trailer previews some exhilarating action scenes featuring Deadwyler, demonstrating her combat abilities.
40 Acres is a film helmed by first-time feature director R.T. Thorne, who collaborated with Glenn Taylor and Lora Campbell on the screenplay. This is Thorne’s debut as a film director. Acting alongside Deadwyler in this production are Kataem O’Connor, Michael Greyeyes, Milcania Diaz-Rojas, Leenah Robinson, Jaeda LeBlanc, Elizabeth Saunders, Tyrone Benskin, and others. The movie is overseen by executive producers Thorne, Thorne Taj Critchlow, Andrew Frank, Mark Gingras, John Laing, and Sudz Sutherland.
In the movie, after a catastrophic plague wipes out all animal life, famine sweeps across the globe causing chaos and destruction among societies, but the Freeman family is not just surviving – they’re flourishing on their ancestral farm by occasionally fending off raiding parties. However, I ponder if enduring the apocalypse means losing our own humanity.
Years ago, I, Hailey, a former soldier, made that decision to isolate myself and my family for safety. My partner Galen and I fled the collapse with our children, built walls around us, and taught them how to fight and defend themselves (and yes, kill).
