As an old-timer gamer who’s seen more seasons of Dancing with the Stars than I care to admit, it feels like just yesterday when Rylee Arnold was still in diapers during the series premiere. Time sure does fly! The 500th episode was a blast from the past, with the celebrities paying tribute to classic performances and even a cameo by Sharna Burgess who’s been MIA for a while now.
The 500th episode of “Dancing With the Stars” was a thrilling night, as we anticipated who would advance to the semi-finals for season 33. To start off, we were captivated by a choreographed performance set to Beyonce and Jay-Z’s song “Crazy In Love,” which was the same tune played during the show’s first episode on June 1, 2005.
It’s quite surprising that one of the professional dancers, Rylee Arnold, was actually born after the series premiere! Makes you think about your age, doesn’t it? However, let’s move on. The evening was brimming with fantastic performances and we had the pleasure of seeing Sharna Burgess back on the show, as she’s been absent for several seasons. Yet, she graced us with her presence in the opening routine.
What happened in Dancing with the Stars Episode 500?
The famous personalities paid homage to past dances from the entire series run by reenacting some of them. Remarkably, a few took on routines previously executed by judges Derek Hough and Julianne Hough. Their renditions were truly remarkable, and Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong left everyone in awe with their exceptional performance.
During the second dance performance of the evening, they needed to immediately execute a dance number that was picked at random. With just five minutes to ready themselves, they had to be prepared for any routine from a selection of four options. The tension was palpable as they revealed their choice.
As a dedicated fan, I couldn’t help but notice the evident disappointment on Daniella Karagach’s face when she received her dance for the night. Nevertheless, both Daniella and Dwight Howard gave it their all to execute the challenging Paso Doble, despite having very little time to prepare. Although they didn’t receive high scores, their commitment to delivering a stellar performance was commendable, and that spirit of determination was truly inspiring.
Chandler and Brandon aced both their acts, leading the rankings. Arnold and Stephen Nederoscik had some rhythm issues but still impressed, while Ilona Maher held her head high after a mishap with one lift. We were captivated by Joey Graziadei’s act, and Danny Amendola left us in awe throughout all his performances.
Who went home in Dancing with the Stars season 33, episode 8?
Regrettably, one well-known figure had to depart as the others advanced to the finals. Ultimately, Dwight and Daniella didn’t make it through and won’t be with us in the next round. We’ll certainly miss them, but their dedication was evident, and we loved watching their weekly performances.
It’s clear that Stephen, Ilona, Chandler, Joey, and Danny are advancing to the next round, which is the semi-finals. We’ll discover who will reach the final when the show airs on ABC on Tuesday, November 19 at 8/7c.
You can catch Dancing With the Stars on Disney+ as well.
