Dacoit: Adivi Sesh, Mrunal Thakur’s action thriller gets a release date finally?

For the very first time, actors Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur will be working together in the forthcoming action-thriller titled “Dacoit”. This upcoming Telugu movie, helmed by Shaniel Deo, has recently sparked interest due to the anticipation building around its release schedule.

Based on information from Andhra Box Office, it’s anticipated that the movie “Dacoit” will be released in cinemas on December 25, 2025, which happens to be Christmas day. However, there has been no formal confirmation about this release date from the film’s creators yet.

Currently, there’s anticipation that Adivi Sesh’s movie G2 would premiere prior to Dacoit. However, a definitive announcement about this sequence is due on Monday, May 26th.

Apart from Adivi and Mrunal, the acclaimed director Anurag Kashyap is joining this project too, taking on a captivating character. In fact, this movie represents Anurag’s first foray into acting in the Telugu film industry.

It’s worth noting that at first, Shruti Haasan was chosen to star alongside Adivi Sesh in a Telugu production. However, surprisingly, she decided to withdraw from the film even though an official declaration had already been made.

It appears that a clash of artistic visions between Shruti and Adivi may have been the reason behind Shruti’s departure from the project. Additionally, it has been suggested that Shruti felt uneasy due to her co-star’s excessive involvement, which likely played a role in her choice to leave the film.

According to someone familiar with the situation, it appears that Shruti’s fellow actor took an excessive interest in the script. Despite Shruti’s eagerness to delve into a fresh aspect of acting, she found herself uneasy about her co-star’s excessive participation.

After Shruti left the role, it was taken over by Mrunal Thakur. Her initial appearance in promotional materials ignited curiosity, suggesting that her character will be intense and captivating as she co-stars with the lead actor of Major.

Returning to the movie topic, it’s known that the story centers on two ex-lovers who find themselves joining forces for a string of burglaries and heists. These criminal activities ultimately alter the entire trajectory of their lives.

Moving on, the next venture of actor Adivi Sesh is titled G2, a follow-up to his successful movie Goodachari. In this sequel, Wamiqa Gabbi has been considered for the main role, taking over from Sobhita Dhulipala who was in the original film.
