Cult Of The Lamb’s Audio Director Has Passed Away

Cult of the Lamb has recently had to say goodbye to its audio director.

River Boy

Narayana Johnson, better known by his nickname River Boy, played a significant role as the audio director for the game “Cult of the Lamb.” He was instrumental in creating the memorable soundtrack and some distinctive sounds made by the villagers within this roguelike title.

The soundtrack he created served as the foundation for the “Metal Album” of the game “Cult of the Lamb,” which was primarily produced by the musician known as Pick Up Goliath. At the time the album was launched, Pick Up Goliath had a conversation about the game’s music with River Boy.

had a chat with @PickUpGoliath about the new metal project and all things cult music

In a compact development team, the indie game “Cult of the Lamb” deeply mourns this absence. Players expressing their sympathies have conveyed their condolences to the game.

I would listen to their songs during my time drawing or studying for my classes. He’ll forever live on through his work in the game, my deepest condolences to the team and River’s family. Please take all the time you guys need🫂🌸 Rip River Boy – @CharlotteRoseO4 on X

This is really tragic news – my condolences❤️ The COTL soundtrack truly is something really special and it’s been on rotation quite heavily this last year. Will take a moment to think about him next time i put it on. Much love and hugs to family and loved ones… – @BlueGoesFast

It’s undoubtedly a significant setback for this community as River Boy crafted melodies that seamlessly complemented the game’s ambiance. At present, there’s no information available about whether Cult of the Lamb will secure a new composer to fill Johnson’s shoes – it’s not about replacing him.

Currently, it takes more time for Massive Monster to grieve, and we share in this sentiment. Our sympathies are extended during this difficult period. When we listen to the enchanting COTL tune again, we will remember him fondly.
