As a seasoned CS:GO spectator with countless hours under my belt, I can confidently say that this Spirit team is something special. The way they dismantled Liquid, particularly with their young prodigy donk at the helm, was nothing short of mesmerizing. His performance on Anubis was simply breathtaking and has certainly catapulted him into the conversation for the No. 1 spot in the HLTV rankings.
In the end, despite a determined effort from Liquid to recover on Dust 2, it was Spirit’s tenacity and offensive power that ultimately tipped the scales, with their teenage sensation Danil “donk” Kryshkovets leading the charge.
Spirit are through to the semifinals in Shanghai!
The series started with a sense of mystery during the map veto selection. Interestingly, Liquid chose to ban Vertigo while keeping Dust 2, Spirit’s preferred map, in play. However, the game commenced on Anubis, which was Liquid’s choice for their opening match.
In an unexpected move, Spirit opted to initiate from the CT side initially, a decision that eventually proved beneficial. They effectively countered Liquid’s typically strong T-side, ending the first half in a tie at 6-6. As the game progressed and sides were switched, Spirit’s offensive momentum picked up, with donk leading the charge.

The teenage sensation delivered a jaw-dropping performance, racking up 24 kills, including two aces, and further showcasing his potential to become the first non-AWP player crowned No. 1 in HLTV rankings since Marcelo “coldzera” David in 2017. Spirit cruised to a 13-9 victory on Anubis, setting the stage for a potential sweep.

The advantage from the previous map (Dust 2) was maintained by Spirit, who chose it as their map pick. With a powerful T-side performance led by player “donk” and captain Leonid “chopper” Vishnyakov’s tactical prowess, Spirit established a strong 7-5 lead at half-time.
Can’t believe Liquid didn’t bring it back after this insane 1v2 from Twistzz

Nevertheless, Liquid continued to push hard. Previously triumphant Major winner Russell “Twistzz” Van Dulken led his team valiantly in an attempt to stage a comeback. The score was tight at 11-12, with Liquid managing to get close enough for a chance to extend the game and keep their chances of playing another map on Ancient alive. However, Spirit remained composed in the crucial moments, securing Dust 2 with a 13-11 win, thus clinching the series 2-0.
