CS2: ohnePixel's DRILLAS don't receive any salary

As a fan who has been following CS:GO for quite some time now, I must say, the story of DRILLAS is truly inspiring. Their journey from open qualifiers to winning their way into the Asian RMR is nothing short of extraordinary. It’s like watching a movie where the underdogs rise against all odds and claim victory.

In August, German streamer ohnePixel announced the signing of his own Counter-Strike 2 roster.

How are DRILLAS compensated?

Initially, the team participated in the preliminary rounds held in the Levant and North Africa, eventually progressing to the regional finals in the Middle East.

This entire project seems surreal, it’s like an entire community banding together to support their team.

They surprisingly won said event, after going flawless through the lower bracket and earned qualification for the Asian RMR, taking place on LAN in November.

During the project, we aimed to secure stickers for ohnePixel, but specifics regarding the exact remuneration for his players remained unclear.

Now, as confirmed by Dona, who is without Pixel’s manager, it appears that the team members will not receive a genuine paycheck.

From the outset, this project was a labor of passion aimed at obtaining OhnePixel stickers. At no time were discussions or agreements made about compensation. The team members involved are simply driven by their enthusiasm for the project. As your manager, it’s important to address any instances of drama or fabricated narratives within the team to maintain a positive and productive environment.

To earn their payment, they must first meet the requirements for the Major tournament. Once they achieve this, each player will be awarded an individual sticker within the game.

uneCamp (or bootcamp) is provided, along with expenses for accommodation and travel, being taken care of by ohnePixel.

From the very start, it was ohnePixel’s intention for the team to also receive their logo as a sticker.

In-game stickers manufactured by Valve, distributed through capsules, are widely recognized as a significant source of revenue for numerous organizations and their players.

Dona further stated, that this is a huge opportunity for the five players.

As a long-time eSports enthusiast with years of watching and playing competitive games, I firmly believe that this is a remarkable chance for these players to display their talents and potentially secure contracts from organizations in the future. The backing they receive from such a vast community is truly impressive, and I can’t help but root for them every step of the way. Qualifying for a major tournament could be a pivotal moment in their lives, opening doors to new opportunities and experiences that might have otherwise remained closed. Let’s rally behind our players, show them our support, and wish them the best of luck on their journey! #LFG drillas
