CS2: HEROIC Completes Roster Overhaul For 2025 Season

The initial phase of changes for HEROIC started when players René “TeSeS” Madsen, Damjan “kyxsan” Stoilkovski, and Abdul “degster” Gasanov were picked up by Falcons earlier this off-season. Following this, Guy “NertZ” Iluz was transferred to Liquid, and in early January, Rasmus “sjuush” Beck decided to leave the team as well. Now, the Danish anchor is set to join NIP.

HEROIC sign the former Sangal core

With the team roster depleted, HEROIC leaned heavily on sAw’s skills to form a competitive lineup. Renowned for his talent in bringing out the best in underdog teams, sAw will reconnect with his former ENCE sniper Álvaro “SunPayus” García. The Spanish AWPer is now part of HEROIC, having been benched by Falcons for the past four months. This followed their brief recruitment of Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev during the season’s closing stages.

Instead of following earlier rumors about HEROIC recruiting Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer and Lotan “Spinx” Giladi from ENCE, they chose a different path. Instead, HEROIC signed the core of Sangal – Linus “LNZ” Holtäng, Yasin “xfl0ud” Koç, and Simon “yxngstxr” Boije. This trio brings a fresh dynamism to the team as well as enough VRS points to guarantee HEROIC’s entrance in important tournaments like the BLAST Bounty and ESL Pro League Season 21.

The plan is for Linus “nilo” Bergmann to be announced as part of the team roster, thereby establishing a Swedish core within HEROIC for the first time ever.

nilo’s signing is not 100% confirmed yet, though.

Although the current team seems less formidable compared to HEROIC’s past rosters based on paper, saw’s history of creating success from unexpected lineups keeps fans optimistic. His strategic prowess is crucial for molding this group into a harmonious and competitive force.

This rebuild comes after a record-breaking period of player sales for HEROIC.

Heroic earned almost 10millions$ on transfers in 2024!

— OverDrive (@ABOverDrive) December 29, 2024

As reported by OverDrive, over the last year, the organization has amassed over $10 million from high-profile player transfers. Notable moves included Casper “cadiaN” Møller joining Liquid and Martin “stavn” Lund and Jakob “jabbi” Nygaard’s transfer to Astralis towards the end of 2023.

Baring a last minute change, HEROIC is set to compete with:

  • Linus “LNZ” Holtäng (IGL)
  • Yasin “xfl0ud” Koç
  • Simon “yxngstxr” Boije
  • Álvaro “SunPayus” García
  • Linus “nilo” Bergmann
  • Eetu “sAw” Saha (Coach)

This updated line-up signals the beginning of a new phase, with the team gearing up to tackle the challenges ahead in the 2025 CS2 competitive scene. Although anticipation might be controlled, the possibility for unexpected outcomes remains considerable as sAw and his comrades prepare to pen the next instalment in HEROIC’s annals.
