As a veteran CS:GO gamer who can remember the days of Counter-Strike: Source and the introduction of Cache back in 2013, I must admit that the hype around its potential return to the franchise is palpable. The latest screenshots shared by FMPONE have only fueled this excitement, taking us down memory lane to the familiar pathway from the terrorist’s spawn area towards the A-Bombsite.

As a massive fan, I can’t help but be thrilled by FMPONE’s impressive map-making prowess in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, having crafted seven competitive masterpieces throughout his journey. Here’s to hoping these remarkable creations find their way into CS2 someday!
The map’s origins go back all the way to CS:Source. Cache was first added to CS:GO in 2013. You can see what it looked like in CS:GO here:
The community embraced it instantly, making it the inaugural community map to be included in the game’s Active Duty Map Rotation.
Back in 2019, I found myself thrilled when Valve made the decision to revamp my favorite game, taking it out of the Competitive Pool for a complete overhaul.
With the transition from CS:GO to CS2, the map has been removed from the game.
As a player, I’m pretty excited about the upcoming map from FMPONE. While it’s not confirmed yet if Valve will include it in the game, considering FMPONE’s reputation, I’m optimistic that we’ll soon be able to play it.
Do you think Cache will finally return in the near future?
