CS2: BIG Clan go flawless through Thunderpick World Championship group stage

As a seasoned gamer with decades of CS:GO under my belt, I must say, the BIG clan is truly living up to their name! The way they’ve swept through their series in the Thunderpick World Championship group stage has been nothing short of breathtaking. It’s not every day you see a squad showing such consistency and form, especially when it comes to my beloved game.

Johannes “tabseN” Wodarz’s team has won all their series during the Thunderpick World Championship group stage, remaining undefeated on every map and exhibiting strong play as they aim for the LAN finals in Berlin.

BIG are through to the advancement game!

Having recently emerged victorious from a LAN grand final for the first time in many years at ESL Challenger in Atlanta earlier this month, the German team has been consistently demonstrating progress.

In their initial match, they squared off against the Russian team Aurora. After a resounding 13-7 victory on their chosen map, Ancient, they also managed to take away Aurora’s pick of Mirage in overtime, securing a tight 16-14 win.

They were helped off by an incredible performance of Jon “JDC” de Castro, who dropped 46 kills across the two maps.

JDC provided significant assistance during the initial map of their crucial series against the Argentinian team, Bestia, which determined the first place.

On Bestias pick of Anubis, BIG had no issues closing out the map 13-6.

Next up was everyone’s familiar battlefield within BIG Clan, the classic map of Dust 2. Yet once more, they faced challenges on the T-side, managing to win only five rounds.

BIG also lost the second half pistol round and were struggling moneywise.

Instead, they could depend on their latest recruit, Rigon “Gashi”, to come up trumps for them. Initially, he managed to grab an eco-round when they were behind by 5-8 points.

And then he produced one of the best clutches you will see all year.

At 11-11, with BIG appearing to be at a disadvantage and possibly heading for overtime or even another map, they displayed exceptional skill and determination.

In the last match, Bestia was dealt a decisive blow as BIG clinched the win with relative ease, wrapping up a 13-11 scoreline, which earned them the top spot in group D and set them on course for the LAN finals in Berlin.

Back at ThunderpickCo’s World Finals, I can hardly wait to feel that sweet sensation again, only this time with a dash of Lan Buff goodness! See you on the battlefield, good game and well played!

They will have one more series to win, on Saturday, to achieve that. They will face OG.

What’s your take on it? Is there a chance that BIG could advance to the LAN finals in their home city? Can they maintain this level of play and secure a spot at the Shanghai Major?
