As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the recent performance by Astralis has left me genuinely impressed and hopeful for the future of this legendary team. The way they dismantled NaVi, who were considered the undisputed kings of esports, is nothing short of remarkable.
As a thrilled fan, I’m ecstatic to share that we, Astralis, have triumphed in a BO3 series, with our very own cadiaN steering the ship. We pulled off an impressive upset against the world number one team, Natus Vincere, with a resounding 2-0 victory. This triumphant start sets the tone for an exciting BLAST Premier World Final here in Singapore!
Astralis upset NaVi 2-0!
Implying that NaVi were the favorites is actually a bit too modest. In truth, Astralis were seen as the least formidable among the eight competing teams in the World Final.
The series began on Astralis’ pick of Nuke, which they also played for the first time under cadiaN.
For the organization that has previously won the Major four times, starting with a comfortable 5-0 lead was just routine business.

In this match, Stavn supported the team with 22 points, while device (Nicolai Reedtz) impressed with an impressive 21 kills. They both played exceptionally well and contributed significantly, putting Astralis in the lead.
Following their selection, NiP chose the Map Mirage. interestingly, Astralis had not yet won this map under their current captain’s leadership. Although it seemed more challenging than Nuke for the top-ranked team, it was not as dire a situation.
However, after a 5-7 half-time score, they only managed one more round win on their T side.

Astralis, yet again, managed to win 13-6.
Jakob “jabbi” Nygaard was outstanding in the process, as he topped the map with 26 kills.
This victory is a significant boost for Astralis, as they had been waiting nearly two months for a Best-of-Three series win with their new lineup. This triumph might provide them the motivation they were missing – not only to excel in the Singapore event, but also to strive towards their objective for the rest of 2024: qualifying for the Shanghai Major.

As a gamer, I find myself stuck in the lower bracket with NaVi, staring down at FaZe Clan as our next challenge if we’re to make it to the playoffs. When defeat struck us, jL, my teammate, had his own unique approach to cope – he took it upon himself to analyze our gameplay, strategize, and prepare for the upcoming battle against FaZe Clan.
This year, we emerged victorious in four tournaments after advancing past the quarterfinals, but unfortunately, we didn’t win any tournaments by reaching the semifinals. Is that clearer now?
