The peacock production company has cast the young actor to portray Jason Voorhees in their eagerly awaited Friday the 13th prequel series, Crystal Lake. Furthermore, Nick Cordileone (Warrior), Joy Suprano (Fleishman is in Trouble), Danielle Kotch (Director’s Cut), and Phoenix Parnevik (Bel-Air) have also been chosen as recurring guest stars for their roles as Ralph, Rita, Claudette, and Barry.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that the captivating series, Crystal Lake, is being crafted by the brilliant mind of showrunner Brad Caleb Kane, known for his work on It: Welcome to Derry, Tokyo Vice, and Warrior. Details about the intriguing plot are being carefully guarded, adding an air of mystery to the anticipation. The series boasts executive producers including Kane, A24, Marc Toberoff, Victor Miller, Robert M. Barsamian, Robert P. Barsamian, Stuart Manashil, Tyson Bidner, and Michael Lennox. The talented directing team consists of Michael Lennox (for episodes 101-103), Celine Held & Logan George (for episodes 104-106), and Quyen Tran (for episodes 107-108). I, for one, can’t wait to unravel the secrets that Crystal Lake has in store!
Who is playing Jason Vorhees in the Crystal Lake prequel?
Based on Variety’s report, Callum Vinson has been confirmed for the role of Jason Voorhees in the Crystal Lake series, with Linda Cardellini taking up the part of his mother, Pamela Voorhees. Notably, Callum will make recurring appearances within the series.
In the upcoming prequel series, actress Felicity Huffman will portray the renowned Pamela Voorhees, a strong mother who is famously associated with the popular horror character Jason Voorhees. Alongside Huffman, previously announced actors include William Catlett as Levon Brooks, Devin Kessler as Briana Brooks, Cameron Scoggins as Dorf (who was originally played by Ron Millkie in the 1980 film), and newcomer Gwendolyn Sundstrom as Grace.
In the initial film series, Mrs. Voorhees served as the first murderer at the camp, seeking vengeance for her son’s presumed drowning death. Her role was brought to life by Betsy Palmer in the 1980 film. This will be the second television adaptation of this famous horror franchise, happening 45 years after its initial release. The first TV version, while sharing connections, was quite distinct – Friday The 13th: The Series (1987-1990).
