As a lifelong gamer and avid romance reader, I’ve come across my fair share of sports romances, but none have quite captured my heart like Simone Soltani’s “Cross the Line.” With its enticing cover and buzz around Formula 1 racing, I was hooked from the start.
In July, there are numerous appealing romance book publications, and one that has garnered significant attention is “Cross the Line” penned by Simone Soltani.
When starting a new romance for the first time, there’s usually a mix of feelings since you’re uncertain about what lies ahead. However, I didn’t need to be anxious about “Cross the Line” as it proved to be an enjoyable experience.
With all the buzz surrounding sports romances, I was genuinely looking forward to reading this particular story. It’s important to note that it focuses on Formula 1 racing, which is quite popular in its own right, even if it doesn’t reach the same level of popularity as some other sports romances.
After receiving and reading Berkley’s advanced copy, I’m grateful for their generosity in allowing me early access. This book rekindled my enthusiasm for reading once more.
Cross the Line is a fast and fun romance by Simone Soltani.
In the novel “Cross the Line,” the story opens with Dev, a Formula 1 driver experiencing a disastrous beginning. Later on, approximately seven months have passed, and we meet Willow, a recent college graduate seeking employment in sports marketing. Notably, an opportunity arises for her through her brother’s closest friend: Dev.
After chatting for a while, Willow consents to overseeing his social media accounts as part of an effort to restore his public image following a rocky experience with a past manager. At first, it seems like an insurmountable task. However, little by little, we observe Willow’s effective strategies and the two develop a strong bond during their collaborative efforts in each race.
In due course, we discovered the seven-month-old secret affecting Willow and Dev’s relationship and its current consequences. Regardless, this novel boasts an irresistible tension between Dev and Willow that keeps you hooked. The anticipation builds until they share their first kiss, which ignites a slow-burning passion between them. Simone Soltani excels at crafting sensual moments, making those scenes particularly enticing.
I was pleasantly surprised by the way Oakley dealt with situations in the book, as it provided a delightful shift in perspective from Willow’s story. Moreover, it was intriguing to discover that Willow had an unmentioned chronic illness, adding another layer of depth to her character. I won’t go on and on, but the tender gestures exchanged between these siblings truly touched my heart and deepened my connection to the novel.
I strongly enjoyed “Cross the Line” and have convinced myself to rate it highly, so I’m considering it as a top contender for my favorite romance of the year. If you’re in search of a new romance to read, I would highly recommend giving “Cross the Line” a try.
Cross the Line by Simone Soltanti is out now where books are sold.
