Croc Legend of the Gobbos remaster announced under relaunched Argonaut Games

As a long-time fan who grew up playing Croc games, this news has me hopping for joy! After what feels like a lifetime since the original Argonaut Games shut down, it’s simply amazing to see them rise from the ashes and bring back one of my childhood favorites.

The Argonaut Games, a company that ceased operations in 2004 and hasn’t been active since 2007, has made a comeback, and they are bringing along a modernized version of the game Croc. This week, they officially announced their return after an almost 20-year break, and their initial project is to release a PC and console version of the remastered game Croc: Legend of the Gobbos.

In a recent announcement, Argonaut Games revealed plans for their comeback and the enhanced version of Croc. They shared this news via a press release and a teaser trailer on YouTube. Gary Sheinweld, one of Argonaut Games’ co-CEOs who had been part of the original studio, expressed his excitement about resurrecting Argonaut: the iconic game developer.

Alongside me, our fellow Co-CEO, Mike Arkin, was equally thrilled, not only for Argonaut’s comeback, but for selecting Croc Legend of the Gobbos as our initial significant undertaking.

The brief trailer for the revamped Croc: Legend of the Gobbos didn’t specify release dates or platforms, but it seems we’ll need to keep an eye out for them before 2024 ends. Fervent enthusiasts of this series have eagerly anticipated new content for years, so keep a close watch on our Croc Series tag for further updates and game news right here at Shacknews.
