As a seasoned fan of Criminal Minds, I must say that the season 2 finale was nothing short of a rollercoaster ride! The answers we’ve been waiting for were finally revealed, and the ending left me on the edge of my seat, eagerly anticipating what’s to come.
In the season finale of “Criminal Minds: Evolution” Season 2, several significant questions were addressed and an explosive conclusion left viewers buzzing with anticipation. Moreover, we were introduced to the last member of Gold Star, but who was he and how did his presence tie into the ongoing events? Let’s delve into a summary of “Save the Children.”
Following the blast in the last episode, Garcia and Rebecca found themselves puzzling over whether their team had made it through safely. Fortunately, they did manage to survive the explosion, however, Emily couldn’t be located. With security footage that Garcia managed to access, they spotted Jade collaborating with another individual.
Upon learning that Dana was deceased, the team deduced that this could be none other than Pete B. As Elias’s voice echoed in Dave’s mind, he identified Pete as Doug Bailey’s younger sibling. Despite Doug’s efforts to help his brother escape the grip of conspiracy theories, all attempts had proven futile.
As a gamer, I’ve always got my buddy Pete’s back, especially knowing he’s part of Gold Star. I did everything I could to shield him from harm. When Elias Voit brought up Gold Star, it struck a chord with me, and I didn’t want anything bad to happen to Pete. Regrettably, things took a turn for the worse, and Pete was tricked into thinking Emily had killed me, making Voit the fall guy.
The team found themselves collaborating once more with Voit, who possessed an innovative app capable of verifying the authenticity of video messages. To access this app, he required Garcia’s assistance but also requested a security guard. He chose Tyler, whom Rebecca informed was being utilized by Voit under the assumption that Tyler would confront him, thereby providing Voit with a justification for self-defense.
Although Voit was attempting to provoke Tyler regarding his sister, Garcia and the team managed to prevent him from causing any harm. Once they discovered where Jade and Pete were hiding in order to locate Emily, JJ challenged Voit instead.
She was able to figure out that Voit had superimposed her face over images of his wife. Before she left, after giving him what she thought was the last word, Voit told her good luck.
While Emily stood firm against Pete and Jade, she attempted to clarify the truth about the incident to Doug. Despite her sincere efforts, they remained unconvinced of her story but decided not to harm her. Instead, they devised a plan to wait for Emily’s team to arrive, so they could all perish together in an explosion.
In the building where Emily was located, Garcia managed to access the security system. Although they couldn’t spot any explosive devices visually, it was clear that something unusual was taking place.
Prior to storming the location, the team started to suspect it was a trap and opted instead to access the multimedia device that Jade and Pete had prepared for Emily, which they used to display videos Doug had sent to Pete. They found a clip where Elias confessed to murdering Doug.
Instead of opting for death due to a deception he regretted, Pete chose to yield. Despite Jade’s determination to take her own life, Emily managed to persuade her to continue living, as they both had the opportunity to uncover secrets about Stuart House.
Following Emily’s attempt to persuade the director to offer assistance to Pete and Jade, including necessary aid upon their arrival at the penal institutions for their sentences, she subsequently went to Garcia’s residence with the group.
It was discovered that Tara and Rebecca have resurrected their bond, while Tyler put forth his application at the FBI. Despite Elias Voit’s lingering influence, they were prepared to advance.
Regarding Voit, it appears he found himself in a complicated predicament. He was carrying out his laundry chores among the general population, which was his preferred area, and was unexpectedly assaulted by two fellow inmates. It seemed these inmates recognized him as Voit, not merely Lee Duvall. However, one might question if this attack was genuine or if it was staged to facilitate an escape for Voit. How did the inmates discover his true identity? Was this part of a larger plan on Voit’s part?
It’s not hard to imagine that Voit could stage an attack on himself as a means of taking revenge against the BAU one more time before leaving prison. Given Zach Gilford’s captivating portrayal and exceptional acting skills, if he reappears to stir up trouble for the BAU, we’re ready for it!
