Criminal Minds: Evolution season 2 episode 8 recap: How is Jill connected to Stuart House?

As a dedicated fan of “Criminal Minds: Evolution,” I was absolutely gripped by the intensity and intrigue of season 2 episode 8, “North Star.” The revelations about Jill Gideon’s past involvement with the Gold Star project only served to deepen the mystery and keep us hooked.

In the eighteenth episode of Criminal Minds: Evolution’s second season, titled “North Star,” we delved deeper into the enigma of the Gold Star case. The origins of the Gold Star were unveiled, as well as Jill Gideon’s role in its fabrication.

When Jill chose to carry out the white paper’s suggestions, she didn’t have the current application in mind. Instead, she aimed to discover if it could identify children at risk of experiencing violent environments due to their upbringing and provide assistance. Unfortunately, a corporation with numerous investors took control, reducing Jill’s involvement in the project.

As a gamer, I wouldn’t have known at the time that the team of psychologists I worked with at Stuart House, including Dr. Hank Dosela, had hidden agendas for the project we were working on together. I believed our goal was to help kids, but in hindsight, it was manipulated into something sinister and twisted beyond my comprehension.

Based on my experience as a seasoned detective, this situation seems all too familiar. A list of psychologists, some of whom have met untimely ends, and our main suspect, Jill, in the middle of it all. I’ve seen cases where a seemingly innocent list hid a web of deceit and danger.

Together with Rossi and Prentiss, who had been informed by Jill that she had lied about their relationship, Jill returned to her house for further investigation. There, they uncovered the fact that Damien’s foster father, Brooks Larson, had passed away eight years prior.

To be alone, Jill initiated an intense emotional discussion with Rossi, resulting in a kiss that prompted him to depart. However, upon discovering Damien’s true identity and obtaining a picture of him, the BAU team sprang into action to locate him.

When Rossi discovered Jill had been the intended victim, she led Damien to Gideon’s cabin, which was wrapped in plastic for her son’s renovation project. Successfully reaching Damien, Jill reassured him that the false accusations he had heard were untrue. Sadly, as Damien prepared to surrender to the BAU, a gunshot echoed from a hidden rifle.

I’m a gamer, and in this virtual world I inhabited, I unfortunately took the life of Damien. After pulling the trigger, Jill was ridden with guilt for her role in the incident. But it was me, Jade, who had wielded the weapon from the shadows without being detected, making my escape before anyone could lay a hand on me.

With Jade now acting alone, a new query for BAU arises: the whereabouts of the remaining Gold Star members. The storyline thus far in this season has primarily centered around Jade and Damien. However, the fate of the other two individuals remains uncertain. Will they be apprehended before the final two episodes?

Regarding Voit, he wasn’t present in the episode, but his lawyer, Vincent, showed up instead. The case that Voit had given to Vincent contained a GPS tracker and a lock box. As reported by Vincent, Voit intended for Damien and Jade to use these items to investigate North Star further and uncover the truth.

At BAU headquarters, Rebecca shared with Tara that there had been an unauthorized access to the Marshals’ database. They believed it could potentially concern Voit attempting to locate his family. Since Voit’s only known contact was his lawyer, Rebecca hesitantly collaborated with Tyler to gather additional information on their conversations.

Based on the evidence uncovered, it appears that Vincent may have exchanged messages with Voit through their network. This discovery suggests that Voit could be using Vincent for unsavory tasks to maintain control over him. Nevertheless, Vincent remains tight-lipped about these allegations.

Voit could be using his lawyer as a lure to pinpoint Gold Star’s whereabouts, enabling him to find them before the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU). However, with just two episodes remaining and only Jade and the other two individuals still untraced, it’s uncertain what Voit hopes to achieve. We eagerly anticipate the upcoming episodes to determine if the BAU can thwart Voit’s manipulative plans.
