What is the Until Dawn horror movie about?

A year after her sister Melanie mysteriously vanishes in a secluded valley, Clover and her friends return to the scene to uncover the truth. While exploring an abandoned visitor center, they encounter a masked killer who systematically murders them, one by one. However, instead of dying permanently, they find themselves back at the start of the same night. As the nightmare repeats itself, the group discovers that each time the killer’s tactics change, growing more sinister with each passing day. With their chances of survival dwindling, they soon realize they have a limited number of deaths allowed and must outlive the killer until dawn to break the loop and escape.

In the ensemble of Until Dawn, you’ll find Ella Rubin, Michael Cimino, Odessa A’zion, Ji-young Yoo, Belmont Cameli, Maia Mitchell, and the distinguished Peter Stormare.

I’m thrilled to share that this script is a creation of Blair Butler and Gary Dauberman – two talented minds behind the scenes! In partnership with them, Sandberg, Dauberman, Asad Qizilbash, Carter Swan, Lotta Losten, Roy Lee, and Mia Maniscalco are producing this movie. The executive producers for this project are Charles Miller and Hermen Hulst. I can’t wait to see what these brilliant minds will bring to life on the big screen!

In 2016, Sandberg first directed a feature film with Lights Out. He continued his journey in filmmaking with Annabelle: Creation, released in 2017. Later, he joined the DC Extended Universe by directing Shazam! in 2019 and its sequel Shazam! Fury of the Gods in 2023.

On Friday, April 25, 2025, the movie “Until Dawn” is scheduled for release in U.S. cinemas by Sony Pictures Releasing.
