Court dismisses choreographer Jani Master's bail petition in sexual harassment case: REPORT

As a follower who has been closely observing the world of entertainment, I must say that the recent turn of events surrounding Jani Master has left me disheartened and disillusioned. The series of allegations against him, ranging from sexual assault to physical harassment, have painted a stark contrast to the vibrant and energetic image he once held in the dance industry.

In a legal setback for Jani Master, who was taken into custody due to allegations of sexual assault, his bail plea was rejected by the Rangareddy district court this week. M9 News reports that the court had delayed considering his petition on multiple occasions and ultimately decided against it on Monday, October 14th.

As an over-the-moon fan of Jani Master, I’ve been following the latest developments with bated breath. It’s come to light that his nephew, Shameer, has taken a stand against the woman who made accusations of sexual assault against the choreographer. In this case, Shameer claimed that during outdoor shoots in cities like Mumbai and Hyderabad, he was subjected to physical harassment.

Previously, Jani Master was granted bail on a conditional basis to attend the National Awards ceremony in New Delhi. Yet, the National Film Awards Department of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting informed the public that due to the sexual assault accusations against him, his National Award for Megham Karukkatha from Thiruchitrambalam has been temporarily revoked.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, due to the gravity of the accusation and because this matter is currently in court, the responsible authority has chosen to temporarily withhold the National Film Award for Best Choreography for the year 2022 that was given to Mr. Shaik Jani Basha for the film Thiruchitrambalam until further notice.

Subsequently, the Narsingi police from Cyberabad requested the court to revoke Jani Master’s temporary bail.

However, following Jani Master’s suspension, Sathish Krishnan ultimately received the National Award for Best Choreography.

The dance instructor was taken into custody in Goa following accusations of rape. A former assistant of his submitted a report, claiming that the instructor had inappropriately touched her numerous times. Since the alleged victim was still a minor during these incidents, charges were brought against him under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.
