“Could be for 2v8” DBD leak shows list of killers with AI codes written for them

As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent in the hauntingly captivating world of Dead By Daylight, I can’t help but feel a pang of melancholy as the 2v8 mode nears its temporary demise. This game mode has been a thrilling twist to the usual 4v1 formula, offering an exhilarating challenge that tests the limits of my survival skills.

1. The Dead By Daylight 2v8 game mode is about to end, but was extended due to Behaviour’s decision. For now, it won’t be a permanent fixture, but it will reappear at some point down the line. Leaks from DBD hint at a collection of killers with AI programming for them, and there’s speculation that this could relate to the 2v8 mode when it comes back in the future.

Behavior has prolonged its 2v8 mode until 8AM Pacific Time, 11AM Eastern Time, or 4PM British Summer Time on August 15th. Although it’s sad that this feature will soon be leaving, there are still many exciting things to look forward to in August. The roadmap for August 2024 features several fantastic skin collections, and we can expect the CastleVania chapter to release on August 27th, with special benefits unveiled for Dracula and Trevor Belmont.

While all this news is thrilling, it’s reasonable that fans feel let down by the departure of 2v8 mode. Unfortunately, we don’t have a return date yet, but Behaviour intends to expand the roster of killers in the future.

Dead By Daylight killers with AI code written for them

Dead By Daylight leaker, RuthelessLeaks, says the following killers have AI code written for them:

  • Leatherface
  • Clown
  • Deathslinger
  • Demogorgon
  • Doctor
  • Pyramid Head
  • Ghostface
  • Legion
  • Freddy
  • Oni
  • Pig
  • Plague
  • Myers
  • Spirit
  • Hag

The artificial intelligence (AI) for the following characters, namely Leatherface, Clown, Deathslinger, Demogorgon, Doctor, Pyramid Head, Ghostface, Legion, Freddy, Oni, Pig, Plague, Myers, and Spirit, is being developed. As of now, none have been put to the test in a 2v8 scenario.

1. Original: For the given list, Ruthless says “They are still being developed, none have been tried out for 2v8 as of now”. In response to a user’s query about their inclusion in 2v8 2.0, RuthlessLeaks replied, “I can’t definitively say whether this will involve BeHaviour simply adding AI killers to public games when a killer disconnects or if it’s for 2v8; it could potentially be for 2v8, though”.

It’s unclear whether the AI bots will be introduced into multiplayer games when a player drops out, or if they are intended for 2vs8 scenarios. However, it seems plausible that they might be used in the latter.

Despite the fact that 2v8 mode is nearing its conclusion, it should be noted that this is simply the initial version. Unfortunately, no specific timeframe has been provided for the return of the Limited Time Mode (LTM). However, we can expect a second iteration of it at some point in the future.

From my perspective as a fervent fan, I’m eagerly anticipating improvements in gameplay mode, as Behaviour Interactive hinted on Twitter that reducing matchmaking wait times is achievable by enriching the roster of killers and enhancing the Survivor experience. This implies that we might soon see new additions to the existing group of The Huntress, The Wraith, The Nurse, The Hillbilly, and The Trapper.

As a gamer, I’ve been eyeing the roster shared by RuthlessLeaks, which might be for 2v8 matches. But here’s the thing, it could also be for bots in custom games. You see, during the October 2022 developer update, Behaviour hinted at something interesting regarding bots in custom matches. Initially, they’ll focus on Survivor bots, but later on, they plan to introduce Killer bots too. This means we’ll have a chance to hone our skills against each Killer in the future. However, it’s important to note that the AI needs to be trained to master each Killer’s unique abilities first, so it might take some time before we can go toe-to-toe with them.

Ideally, it includes support for 2v8 game mode, custom match bots, and AI control when a killer drops out. One persistent issue with 2v8 has been long queue times for killers, coupled with many players favoring The Huntress. It’s anticipated that more killers will be included in the next version of 2v8; we simply need to wait and see which new characters join the roster of villains.
