Corbin Returns With ‘Crisis Kid’

After spending three and a half years away from the spotlight, Corbin (formerly known as Spooky Black), has come back with his first album. This is his third studio project, titled “Crisis Kid.” In this concept album, Spooky Black seems to have matured a bit, delving into the challenges of addiction and adult life. Listeners are invited to join him on a solitary, existential voyage as he grapples with his personal struggles, expressed through a diverse array of genre-bending tracks that feature esoteric elements.

Corbin expressed in his official announcement, “I tend to express feelings of sorrow through my writing.” He added, “Many people can identify with sadness – that’s why my earlier work resonated. However, with this new album, I aim to bring about a shift, not just for myself but also for others, by creating music that brings healing.

The release, titled “Crisis Kid,” contains ten tracks without any additional features, such as the previously unveiled songs “Carbon Monoxide” and “Come Down.” While maintaining the initial vigor that characterized his SoundCloud days, Corbin’s latest work showcases a fresh guitar-driven sound. The creative vision for this album is also attributed to Hendrik Schneider, who has previously worked with artists like Charli XCX, Drain Gang, and Shygirl.
