Coolie star Rajinikanth and wife Latha make their 44th wedding anniversary extra special in Dubai; PICS go viral

For more than forty years, Rajinikanth has been married to Latha. Their union was formalized on February 26, 1981, and this year they marked their 44th wedding anniversary with a memorable vacation in Dubai.

A number of images featuring Rajinikanth and Latha are currently spreading rapidly on social networking platforms. In one snapshot, Thalaivar can be seen striking a pose with a fan, while both are holding a bouquet. Another picture catches them wearing casual clothing, traveling in an automobile within the airport premises.

Fun fact: The romantic journey between Rajinikanth and Latha took an unforeseen turn – it all started during a chance encounter at an interview!

Back in the 1980s, Latha had a chance encounter with Rajinikanth on the movie sets of Thillu Mullu, where she was there to interview him for her college publication. From the very beginning of their conversation, it was evident that Rajinikanth, famously known as The Jailer, took an instant liking to her. As they wrapped up their chat, he expressed his desire to marry Latha. However, Latha politely reminded him that such a decision would require discussing it with her parents first.

Rajinikanth initially hesitated when it came to meeting her family, but with the assistance of comedian Y G Mahendran, who happened to be Latha’s brother-in-law, he found the courage to speak to them. In 1981, they exchanged vows at Balaji Temple in Tirupati, surrounded by close family and friends, as part of a traditional South Indian wedding ceremony.

For quite some time, Rajinikanth has frequently acknowledged Latha as his greatest source of strength. He attributes much of his good health and structured lifestyle to her. As doting parents, they are delighted by the presence of their two daughters, Aishwaryaa and Soundaryaa, and cherish moments with their grandchildren.

Aishwaryaa was in a 18-year long marriage with Dhanush, and they have two sons named Yatra and Linga together. Unfortunately, the couple chose to part ways later on. Soundaryaa experienced a divorce from Ashwin Ramkumar earlier, and she then wed businessman Vishagan Vanangamudi.
