On August 14, 2025, the eagerly awaited film project by Rajinikanth, titled “Coolie,” is set to hit theaters. This massive production has generated a lot of buzz due to its promising box office prospects. Here’s a rundown of what you should expect before it graces the silver screen.
The movie Coolie is said to have been produced with a budget of approximately 40 billion rupees and is expected to reflect the essence of Lokesh Kanagaraj as its creator. Reports suggest that the director himself will earn an impressive sum of around 6 billion rupees, marking a significant increase in his compensation compared to his previous film.
Yet, it’s not anyone else but Rajinikanth who has become Asia’s top earner among actors, raking in substantial earnings from the film “Coolie”.
According to what I’ve gathered from News18, it seems this 72-year-old Tamil cinematic legend is raking in a staggering sum between Rs. 260-280 crore for the upcoming film! This figure outshines previous earnings by stars like Aamir Khan and Jackie Chan, leaving me absolutely awestruck as an ardent fan!
As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it this way: Speaking of Coolie’s upcoming cast, it’s been reported that Nagarjuna has raised his game – or rather, his fees! He’s now asking for a whopping Rs. 24 crore to bring Simon to life in the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial.
In addition to the lead roles, actress Shruti Haasan, actors Sathyaraj and Upendra Rao have been confirmed for the action thriller. Interestingly, they haven’t asked for a salary increase and will reportedly stick with their standard fee for this grand production.
As a die-hard admirer, I can hardly contain my excitement over the latest news that none other than the legendary Aamir Khan will be gracing our screens in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s upcoming directorial! It’s being whispered across the grapevine that he’ll be pocketing a cool sum between Rs. 25-30 crore, as per NewsX reports. I can barely wait to witness this magical collaboration unfold!
Beyond that tidbit, it’s worth mentioning that Pooja Hegde, the radiant star who recently triumphed with Retro, has also joined the Coolie cast. Interestingly, she’s set to make a special appearance in one of the songs. According to Siasat, her remuneration for this role is said to be a substantial Rs. 2 crore.
