The action-packed movie “Coolie,” featuring Rajinikanth in the lead role, is set to hit theaters on August 14, 2025. In anticipation of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s directorial hitting the big screen, the production team has unveiled the first song from the film as a sneak peek.
On June 25, 2025, the first single from the upcoming movie starring Rajinikanth will be released. Called “Chikitu”, this tune is expected to feature Anirudh Ravichander in the music video, with a unique dance number choreographed by him.
Announcing the news, they wrote, “It’s time for everyone to get ready to be ‘Chikitufied’. Our music video premieres on June 25th at 6 PM. The much-anticipated ‘Coolie’ song will be released worldwide on August 14th.
Anirudh Ravichander to get Chikitutified with Coolie first single
Anirudh Ravichander, composer and singer, created the first single from Coolie titled “Chikitu.” He collaborated with TR Rajendran on this track. In a unique twist, the Tamil street-style song will be brought to life through the choreography of Sandy Master, who is an actor as well as a choreographer.
On June 25, the music video is set to premiere. In a previous announcement, it was emphasized by Rajinikanth’s public relations team head, Riaz K Ahmed, that there will be updates related to “Coolie” on both June 24 and 25.
In simpler terms, the upcoming film “Coolie,” starring Rajinikanth as the main character, is being promoted as an action-packed movie by its director Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film is anticipated to showcase Rajinikanth in a villainous role, with Nagarjuna Akkineni and Upendra Rao playing significant parts.
In addition to these actors, Bollywood star Aamir Khan is set to make a special guest appearance, while Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, and others form an impressive ensemble cast in this project.
Interestingly, Pooja Hegde will be making an appearance in the movie for a special dance number.
In contrast to the usual films by director Lokesh Kanagaraj that seamlessly fit into his cinematic universe (LCU), this upcoming Rajinikanth blockbuster is reportedly a standalone production. As fate would have it, this highly anticipated movie will be premiering during Indian Independence week, coinciding with the release of War 2, featuring none other than Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR. Needless to say, I can hardly contain my excitement!
Moving on to Rajinikanth’s professional endeavors, he is at present engaged in the production of Jailer 2, helmed by Nelson Dilipkumar. This upcoming movie will be a follow-up to the 2023 release, Jailer. Notable actors like Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar are anticipated to reappear in their previous roles for this project.
Furthermore, it’s noted that the seasoned Telugu actor, Nandamuri Balakrishna, is set to make a more substantial appearance beyond just a brief role.
