Legendary actor Rajinikanth is returning to the silver screen yet again, reprising his famous role as “Tiger” Muthuvel Pandian in the sequel to “Jailer”. The announcement teaser for “Jailer 2” has been causing a sensation online, generating enthusiasm among fans, even Coolie director Lokesh Kanagaraj.
In a recent post on X (previously known as Twitter), Lokesh showcased his astonishment over the teaser and commended the partnership between Anirudh and Nelson alongside the superstar. Expressing himself, the director penned down, “Wowww!! #Jailer2. Superstar + Ani + Nelsa equals Explosion-of-Explosions!!!”.

On January 15, 2025, the preview for Jailer 2 was unveiled, causing quite a stir. In this 4-minute video, Anirudh and Nelson engaged in their typical work-related banter, with Rajinikanth making a reappearance, embodying his menacing character once more.

The upcoming movie, titled Jailer 2, is set to continue the storyline from the hit 2023 film Jailer, where Rajinikanth played the main character. This sequel will also be helmed by director Nelson Dilipkumar. The original Jailer followed a former prison guard whose life was upended when his honorable police officer son mysteriously vanished.
Assuming his son is no more, the main character launches into a ruthless pursuit, eliminating anyone suspected of his son’s apparent demise. This unrelenting search eventually brings him face-to-face with an odd artifact dealer, paving the way for the rest of the movie’s gripping storyline.
In the main character played by Rajinikanth, the movie Jailer boasts an outstanding collection of talented actors such as Vinayakan, Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah Bhatia, Vasanth Ravi, Mirnaa Menon, Yogi Babu, Sunil, and more in significant roles. Furthermore, it showcases brief appearances by well-known stars like Mohanlal, Jackie Shroff, and Shiva Rajkumar, further enhancing its stellar lineup.
Regarding the ongoing ventures of this celebrated actor, Rajinikanth is currently engaged in the production of his upcoming movie titled Coolie.
