The movie “Coolie,” starring Rajinikanth, is set to premiere in cinemas on August 14, 2025. Before its arrival, the production team has shared previews from the Lokesh Kanagaraj-directed film along with the release of the song “Coolie Powerhouse” on various audio streaming services.
According to a post by the producers, the images hinted at a sequence of intense scenes from the upcoming film starring Rajinikanth. Behind-the-scenes footage featured glimpses of the superstar during filming, causing quite a stir among fans who were excitedly waving and receiving waves from the actor.
They both wrote the same caption which translates to English as “Mass will always stay high” or “The spirit of Mass remains unbroken.

Director Lokesh Kanagaraj recently praised the superstar in an interview with Sudhir Srinivasan on YouTube. In his words, “The superstar left me speechless, making me feel and think deeply about life. He taught me numerous things, brought tears to my eyes, and even made me laugh. Each day, I was learning something new from him.
The film “Coolie,” featuring Rajinikanth as the main character, is reportedly an action-packed drama where Rajinikanth takes on a role with a darker tone. Alongside Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna Akkineni and Upendra Rao are also in key roles, while Aamir Khan is rumored to make a brief appearance.
Besides these notable figures, the movie boasts a talented ensemble of actors such as Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, Soubin Shahir, and others in pivotal positions. Lokesh Kanagaraj directs the film’s action sequences, while Anirudh Ravichander composes its music tracks and scores.
Coincidentally, the movie Coolie will be released in theaters during the same weekend as Independence Day. This coincides with the release of the film War 2 starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, which is being directed by Ayan Mukerji, potentially leading to a competition for audiences’ attention on that particular weekend.
Moving onto Rajinikanth’s career, the renowned star is presently shooting for his upcoming film titled Jailer 2. This film will be helmed by Nelson Dilipkumar. In this sequel, Rajinikanth will once again embody the character “Tiger” Muthuvel Pandian, while Nandamuri Balakrishna is expected to make an extended guest appearance.
In addition to the main character, it’s anticipated that both Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar will appear briefly in the film, once more taking on their characters from the original movie.
