As a long-time fan of Conan O’Brien and his witty humor, I must say his recent attempt to join the cast of The White Lotus for its third season is nothing short of hilarious! Known for his quick comedic timing and ability to make any situation entertaining, it’s no surprise that he pitched himself as a male gigolo in Thailand when he ran into creator Mike White.

In a recent conversation on Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend, Conan O’Brien chatted with Walton Goggins, who is among the stars of The White Lotus Season 3. During their talk, O’Brien recounted his attempt to secure a role in The White Lotus by pitching himself directly to creator Mike White when they happened to meet in Bangkok, Thailand.
Why Did Conan O’Brien Want to Join The White Lotus Season 3?
“Prior to filming The White Lotus, I bumped into none other than Mike White in a restaurant,” O’Brien shared with Goggins. “We struck up a conversation as we’ve met a few times before, and he’s quite witty and laid-back. I asked him, ‘So, the next season of The White Lotus, you’re heading to Thailand, aren’t you?’ To which he replied, ‘Yes.’ And I said, ‘I was there myself. I had a fantastic time and made many friends.'”
O’Brien added, “I said, ‘If there’s a part for me, I’m available.’”
Following O’Brien’s unexpected sales pitch, White subtly suggested Thailand has a significant amount of adult entertainment. Eager to take on the challenge, O’Brien was ready.
“I can handle that,” O’Brien told White. “I could take on a role, perhaps as a male escort.”
Following a burst of hearty laughter, O’Brien proposed to Goggins if he would take up the role of a male escort and experience life as a gigolo.
Goggins expressed, “I believe you can pull it off. You can act that role convincingly, and at the same time, embody that character in reality.”
Based on my years of immersing myself in the dynamic world of television production, I must say that the news of The White Lotus Season 3 wrapping up production recently has filled me with a sense of anticipation and excitement. As a viewer who closely follows this critically acclaimed show, I can’t help but marvel at the sheer talent assembled for this season.
