What did Conan O’Brien say about Drake?

At the 2025 Oscars, Conan O’Brien joked about the long-standing feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake, causing a huge response from the crowd.

Following their performance at the 2025 Super Bowl, the rivalry has escalated to the 2025 Academy Awards. In a video posted on X (previously known as Twitter) by Variety, O’Brien is shown wrapping up the first half of the show and taking a dig at Drake.

He announced, “Now we’ve reached the midpoint of the show, so it’s Kendrick Lamar’s turn to appear and make a joking remark about Drake being a pedophile.” This comment sparked a wave of applause and laughter from the audience at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

O’Brien went on to say, “Don’t fret, I have legal representation,” alluding to the lawsuit Drake filed against Universal Music Group. This lawsuit, initiated in November 2024, claims that UMG intentionally manipulated streaming services and radio airwaves to promote Lamar’s song “Not Like Us” by using ‘bots’ and pay-to-play contracts, with the aim of making the song popular.

Nevertheless, the record company refuted all the claims brought forth by the rapper, branding them as “offensive and false” in a statement issued promptly following the legal action.
