COD Mobile SMG Tier List Season 10 (2025): The Meta SMGs To Use This Season

For almost a year, submachine guns, or SMGs, have been the most popular and effective weapons in Call of Duty: Mobile. The CBR4, MAC-10, and PPSh-41 have consistently been top choices for players.

Despite multiple adjustments to weaken them, the CBR4 and MAC-10 continue to be the top-performing SMGs in the game.

We’re looking ahead to Season 10 (2025): Vault AU79 and wondering what to expect. To give you an idea, we’ve put together a tier list, ranking all the SMGs from the best to the worst.

COD: Mobile SMG Tier List

Submachine guns (SMGs) are best used in close-range fights, and can still be effective at medium range. Because they’re typically lightweight and use smaller bullets, SMGs have very little recoil and can eliminate enemies very quickly.

Most also have many available attachments that allow you to tailor them to your play style.

Submachine guns have been frequently adjusted in recent updates, with weaker guns receiving improvements to make them more competitive with others in the same class.

That means in Season 10 (2025), there are plenty of viable SMGs to choose from.

COD: Mobile Season 10 (2025) features a total of 29 submachine guns (SMGs). The newest SMG is the STEN, which was added in Season 9, called “Midnight Rumble.”

As a huge fan of submachine guns, I’ve put together a tier list ranking them from the absolute best – those I’m calling ‘S’ tier – all the way down to the ones I’d probably avoid, which are ‘D’ tier. I’ll explain my reasoning for each gun’s placement so you can see why I think they deserve their spot.

S-Tier

  • STEN (new)
  • ISO
  • CBR4
  • PPSh-41
  • MAC-10
  • GKS

The ISO SMG shreds enemies with a low TTK, granted you are using the right attachments for it.

The CBR4 remains a top-tier weapon, consistently performing well despite recent adjustments that were meant to balance it. It’s still considered one of the best SMGs available.

A high fire rate coupled with little recoil makes it the prototypical SMG.

Recently, the weapon takes a bit longer to reload, and the speed boost from the YKM Light Stock attachment has been slightly decreased. However, these changes haven’t significantly weakened its overall strength.

Coming in second is the recently buffed MAC-10, which saw its damage range increase.

This submachine gun is ideal for players who prefer a quick, mobile style – quickly moving in and out of cover to get right up close to enemies.

The PPSh-41 takes third place. It received improvements in the Season 8 weapon update and has consistently been one of the best SMGs ever since.

This Soviet-era weapon is very accurate at medium distances, has minimal recoil, and starts with a large number of bullets, making it a powerful choice in any match.

A newer addition in the S-tier is the GKS, which was buffed in the past season.

Professional players often choose this weapon due to its quick time-to-kill, but getting the most out of it requires a good level of skill.

A-Tier

  • USS 9
  • VMP
  • TEC-9
  • CX9
  • Striker 45
  • OTs 9
  • KSP 45
  • MSMC
  • Switchblade X9
  • Fennec
  • ARG .556
  • HG40

The top-ranked group now has a lot more players, especially after recent updates made SMGs more powerful.

The KSP 45 is a unique SMG. Its burst fire and long range make it effective in medium-distance fights, but accuracy is key to using it well.

The Switchblade X9 is a compact and lightweight submachine gun, similar to the MAC-10, and known for its rapid fire rate.

However, it doesn’t pack the same punch as the MAC-10, relegating it to the A-tier.

The MSMC has been adjusted in previous seasons: its damage at close range was increased, but its effective range was reduced.

You’ll need to get much closer to your opponent than before, and a good SMG with the right upgrades will be key.

The RUS-79U, Fennec, HG40, and ARG .556 all retain their place in the A-tier.

B-Tier

  • LAPA
  • Cordite
  • QQ9
  • PP19 Bizon
  • MX9
  • Razorback
  • PDW-57
  • Pharo
  • QXR (moved from C tier)

The B-tier offers a lot of good options, like the recently improved HG 40 and MX9, plus the newest weapon to the class, the LAPA.

The MX9 is a very strong weapon, dealing more damage and reliably eliminating enemies in just four or five shots.

The HG40 has been significantly improved with increased damage, making it particularly effective in medium-range fights. This gives it a unique fighting style compared to other weapons in its class.

The PP19 Bizon is a great all-around gun that’s really simple to use. If you’re looking for a versatile weapon, this is a solid choice.

Also buffed back last year, the Razorback and PDW-57 keep their place in the B-tier.

C-Tier

We’ve updated the QXR’s tier ranking. It was previously in C-tier, but recent improvements have moved it up to B-tier.

Moreover, with the right attachments, it is on par with most of the A-tier SMGs.

D-Tier

  • Chicom

While Chicom has received several buffs in the past, it still falls behind the other SMGs.
